Cleveland Browns 2024 Edition

I’m leaning more towards this is the day the Chiefs pull their heads out of their Kelce and start their march to the Super Bowl.
Could be. It just seems like one of those times in the season that we all go "what the F was that?" due to something positive the Browns have surprisingly done.

Yes the Steelers have been consistently better than the Browns since the new Browns have come back …. But, since the Stefanski & Berry have taken control … the difference is not that great … in the 4 years previous to this one with Stefanski coaching the Steelers have an overall record of 40-29-1 … the Browns 38-32 … while I don’t consider the Browns a great organization … for the past 4 they have been decent … as for this year … they lost a couple games when they had their top 3/4 tackles out … that is hard to overcome … if the had won just a couple of those games … they would be a 5-8 team, bad but not fall off the cliff bad … I believe they can get back to being a decent team with several good moves this offseason … to me the most important is get some balance back in their offense … they need to have at least a assemble of a running game.

What do the Browns do? What is their identity on offense? I know what Stefanski’s offensive philosophy is, because I saw it in Minnesota and I’ve seen brief glimpses of it in CLE. Everyone in the NFL knows Stefanski is a play action west coast offense guy, but he’s only run that with the Browns very few times, mostly with Flacco. Why? Because the organization keeps feeding him square pegs at QB that don’t fit. So Stefanski has to keep trying to hybridize his offensive identity due to the talent acquisition mismatches. That is the definition of a poorly run organization with no identity. Sadly, I do believe Stefanski is a good coach who is being wasted in CLE.

You said it Pittsburgh has a better record in the past 4 years, but on paper the Browns have a better roster. The past 4 years have been the most hair pulling when watching the Steelers offense. This year has been somewhat better. Despite the offensive woes we are 11 games over 500 these past 4 years. I woyld say nobody has done less with more than the Browns. Then I look at the Bengals ( And Rams to a degree)

He might. We’ll see if DePodesta’s analytics spit out Brian’s name for the next Browns HC. It once spit out the current Buffalo coach as the best candidate, but the Browns took Hue. The next time around it spit out Stefanski and they hired him. Maybe the next time it spits out Brian’s name?

Go buy a bottle of booze with it

Dumb penalties are reflective of poor coaching
They look like a mess. It really is time for a clean out and overhaul with a new regime where the GM and coach are in tandem in their philosophy, but who wants to sign up for anything to do with this team until the Watson mess is done?
