Cleveland Browns 2024 Edition

Looking at the schedule, which is sometimes not as easy or difficult as we think it will be due to some teams being unexpectedly better or worse in the upcoming season, I’m predicting an 8-9 finish for the Browns. I’m just not believing the Watson/Stefanski marriage will work and I doubt the defense can match its dominant home game performance of 2023 and will likely be a middle of the pack D. Also, a healthy Burrow elevates the Bengals above the Browns again and Pittsburgh and Baltimore are already better.

You’re assuming Burrow plays a full season?

Some teams took him off of draft boards for fear of something like this-

Typical Florio "reporting". No mention of what caused the concern pre-draft. No mention of which teams took him off their board. How this guy earns a living as a reporter is beyond me. Anyway, there is probably something to the story, but who knows...

Surprised that the Browns let Hall practice yesterday. I get the whole "innocent until proven guilty" thing, but the optics on this are not good. I'm sure a suspension is coming, and if the charges are true, it could be a Ray Rice type of ban. Why the Browns rushed him into practice is puzzling.

I'm only slightly kidding when I say I would not be surprised to see Watson go down on play 1 of the first series of the first regular season game and immediately be out for the season, thereby ending any effectiveness he's ever going to have for the Browns. It would be by far the most Cleveland thing that could happen to the Browns. I've seen too many freak things happen with Cleveland sports over the years to expect otherwise.

I hope I am wrong! I am not going to feel good about this team until Watson is out of here. That's my problem, I know, I own it, but it's how I feel. I hope the best for the Browns and I'm a longtime fan. I just don't like #4 for them.

If that did happen … would Jameis Winston have the same ‘success’ as Joe Flacco?

The Vikings' reporter said that Watson and the Browns offense was dreadful, totally dominated by the Vikings' defense. He said Watson either threw interceptions or was sacked.

I'm assuming he will, but it's clearly not certain he will. We have seen what he can do for that team when he is healthy, though, and he took them beyond where the Browns have ever been.
The Browns own him so...

If they go 8-9 Haslem won't have to worry about the stadium, it'll be burned down.

11 wins is the floor for this team, too much talent to accept anything less.

Well, the Browns have won NFL Championships.

Last I checked, the Bengals have won absolutely nothing.

Hope not alot injuries the backups are awful. So many injuries fire stefanski.he to soft of a coach.

Yeah it's the preseason. Yeah it's not the starters. Granting all that you still want to see competence displayed, some of these guys are going to have to play this year given inevitable injuries. To get dominated 2 weeks in a row at home isn't a good look.

The 2 time defending world champion Chiefs have played their starters in the first 2 pre-season games. The Browns don’t even dress their starters. Which culture would you rather have?

Pierre strong hurt.

5th concussion and he’s been out for over a week. Hopefully Ward gets better but at some point one has to be thinking about hanging the cleats up for their health. Ward still has 3 years left on his deal. If he were to retire before the end of the contract the Browns could come after some of the guaranteed $$$ Ward has been paid out.

A player is entitled to the money in their contract that is protected against injury. If he were to retire due to concussion issues, that falls under this stipulation in the CBA
