Cleveland Browns 2023 Edition

Watkins has been injured his entire career. No thanks. Can’t rely on him.
Unfortunately, right now, he'd fit in perfectly. :(

Cooper joined other injured receivers such as Marquise Goodwin (blood clots), Michael Woods II (ruptured Achilles), Jakeem Grant (Achilles recovery) and Anthony Schwartz (hamstring).

The problem won't be Watson. It will take great coordination between him and the offensive line. Since he was trying to do things that Brissett didn't do ( looking like he was going to run, then passing at the last minute), the line didn't really adjust to this different style. The second is, of course, the play calling, especially in the red zone. Stefanski has to look like the reincarnation of Lindy Infante.

I think they'll be fine with that.

They had to change everything and get used to him in very short order last year.

I have way less confidence in Stefanski than Watson.

Joe Thomas displays an attitude that has pretty much disappeared in sports and society:

“I think as a player it was important to me to be loyal to Cleveland and the Browns and the organization and my teammates,” Thomas recently said, speaking on behalf of a partnership with USAA.

“I think it was always important to me,” said Thomas... “It was a value that my parents taught me when I was a kid – the importance of loyalty to your family, your community, your faith, your church, your friends."

A lesson that needs to be emphasized to everyone.

Steelers' fansite says Browns are " in shambles."

There was also another fight that broke out which led to offensive lineman, Tyrone Wheatley hobbling off the field according to Browns' beat writer, Mary Kay Cabot. The actions led to Stefanski treating his players like undisciplined high school athletes. He made the team run sprints at the end of practice as a punishment for the foolish behavior.

The scene from Browns' camp in a bit of a ruckus should bring a grin to the faces of Steelers' fans. For the most part, Pittsburgh has dominated Cleveland throughout the 21st century and this is just another example of the organization in shambles. The fact that there were two fights on one day of camp and sprints required as a punishment is quite funny.

Fights in training camp are as old as training camp.

That guy should go write for the Babylon Bee.

To be a HOF’er in the NFL is extremely difficult and Thomas was definitely a HOF’er. Playing in a sea of turmoil with incompetent people around him (Ownership, Front Office, Head Coaches & players) year after year yet still playing at a high level is impressive.

A great way to start the season, huh? Discipline and leadership?

Thomas was almost traded to Denver:

In Cleveland, it's as if this didn't happen.

Maybe it didn’t?

Neat. We can watch a bunch of guys that won't be in the NFL in a few weeks. Hard pass for me.
if it wasn't the Browns playing or Joe Thomas not being put in the Hall of fame .. probably wouldn't watch it... but for those two reasons will be watching..

Peyton Manning urged Thomas to force his way out of Cle.

Told Thomas to defecate in the office to get traded.

“It was a matter of, 'Joe, I think you should go up to your GM’s office and make a stink. Literally, I want you to go up there, pull your pants down, and make a stink on his desk because that's the only way Cleveland is going to trade you. That's the only way you're going to be able to get out of town,"' Thomas said.

Watching the Enshrinement speeches is the best, I believe those will be on ESPN on Saturday. Listening to their stories and how they overcame things throughout life is incredible. Well worth the watch or at least catch it in the internet (NFL.com) when you get a chance.

Look for another d-tackle to be added.

I've never been much impressed by Elliott and Schwartz is apparently catching on. The front office didn't leave the staff which many other options, but with the influx of interior defensive talent he's going to plummet down the depth chart.
