Cleveland Browns 2023 Edition

Maybe you're right; our teams always do better when nothing is expected. Then they do well, expectations go sky high, and then they inevitably flop big time.
Are we still talking about 2007? I feel like that's the only time the Browns have done well when it wasn't expected. Maybe you can throw 03 in there, but we were still optimistic back then because they were still the "new" Browns so we had hope.

I keep reading all the hype coming out of Cleveland and I’m really cringing. I feel like this team isn’t going to be as good as people are saying. Aside from the obvious in the Watson situation, which I’m really hopeful about, I don’t love the WR room and I’m not sold on the defense. The back 7 is glass. Not one linebacker played a full season last year. Delpit has injury history and Ward is always hurt. I don’t care if we brought in Bill Belichick paired with Buddy Ryan after a retreat in Texas with Tom Landry and the whole Philips family, I don’t think a new coach is going to come in and completely fix an overhauled defense from last year. Not only that, but I’m starting to worry about the mileage on Chubb, especially since they haven’t picked up a complimentary back yet. 😬

Anyone else?

I think it’s the best division in football and injuries, coaching even luck will determine the winner. I’m a Steeler fan and I think most likely it’s Bengals, Ravens, Steelers, Browns but over a 18 week season it will be a free for all. I said before I could see all 4 teams at 3-3 vs division opponents, if a team can go 5-1 or 4-2 that may be the edge. 11-6 / 12-5 will win it.

If you’re talking the Cleveland media saying that…well they say that about every year. Most national media people have the Browns finishing 3rd or 4th in the North

There are a couple of internet reports out there tying the Browns to a potential trade for Aaron Donald. Looks like nothing more than internet conjecture at this point, but that certainly would be interesting.

All valid concerns IMO, except I like the WR room. Cooper is very solid. I really like how DPJ has developed; I think he has a big year. The additions of Moore and Goodwin make it a decent room, with enough speed that we can dump Schwartz (please).

Yeah, my main concern is that it’s a 1 year rental room. I think Cooper and DPJ are gone next year.
