Top players lost: Gabby McConnel and Ella Michael
New impact players: Jenna Boring is a transfer and Kylie McCain is a senior, playing for the first time in 4 years. Both girls work hard and like to compete. However, I think most of our returners will be impact players this year, as we are still a young team.
Final Comments: We lost a strong presence in the circle last year along with two great bats, but with Kayla Fleck and Audrey Cowdery in the circle this year, Kaylee West behind the plate, and a strong defense behind them, I believe we will be able to keep a lot of teams off balance and will compete as we have a majority of our team returning from last year.
Team Strengths: Defense, speed
Things the team will need to work on: We are still a young team, so the mental IQ of the game is something we need to work on as well as getting crafty on the bases and using our speed to our advantage.
Outlook: I am excited for the season this year. We get to face a lot of really great programs that will only make us better. Our goal as a team is to do the little things, work hard, be happy for each other's successes and compete with whoever is across the diamond. We have a lot of great athletes with a ton of potential to unlock.
