Central Buckeye Conference 2022

34-0. Braves looked good. Running back is an absolute tank. QB really liked to tuck it and run it, and he’s pretty fast. passing game was usually pretty open. they had a couple great run plays around the edges.

Shawnees lone weakness was running between the tackles, the Shawnee O-line was not opening holes for the RB very often.

i wasn’t able to attend, but this is the recap i got.
He is a tank. 3rd kid from that family to play RB for Shawnee.

Who did they scrimmage

Ready beat London 28-21. Ready ran well against London's defense. London's defensive line was not very good and their offense struggled more that I thought they would. I think based on what I saw that London is going to struggle week 1 against St. Mary's Memorial.

Not sure if beating up on Greenon paints a good picture on what Shawnee has and I keep hearing good things from Bellefontaine.

Citing who they play in the league, beating Greenon is key to their progress.

To wrap up the Jamborees…..

Bellefontaine handled N Union
Shawnee smoked Greenon
Ben Logan played even with Kenton
Indian Lake was bad but forget who they played
Urbana controlled West Liberty
Graham controlled Mechanicsburg
London lost close to Ready

I heard nothing on Alder, Tecumseh, KR or NW

Carlisle beat Kenton Ridge Thursday 27-0 in 2.5 quarters.

I read Tecumseh scored 4 times against Covington and they only scored once. Really can’t gauge Tecumseh as Covington is very young, and lucky to have enough kids to field a team.

Tecumseh coughed up the ball on one possession or it would have been more. There was also a drop in the end zone as well. Covington scored in the second half on JV.

KR has really struggled the last couple years. Tecumseh and Bellefontaine should have strong seasons to make the conference really competitive

The first three weeks can be a make or break part of the season. IMO, strong out of the gate would equal a good standing in the regions come playoff time, 0-3 or 1-2 can put you behind the 8-ball. The CBC always seems to be full of surprises come divisional games but the first 3 weeks is critical in setting the confidence of the team. Here is my take on the 1st 3 weeks....just a SWAG based on what I have been able to put together from Yappi conversations, previous records, last year's outcomes (if applicable) and gut feeling. Anyway, here goes.

Bellefontaine - Sidney (W), Coldwater (W), Licking Height (W) = 3-0
London - St. Marys (L), Marion Franklin (W), Urbana (W) = 2-1
Shawnee - Valley View (L), Eaton (L), Graham (W) = 1-2
Tecumseh - Carroll (W), Bellbrook (L), Graham (L) = 1-2
Alder - Amanda Clearcreek (L), Buckeye Valley (W), Bloom Carroll (L) = 1-2
Kenton Ridge - Mechanicsburg (L), Bethel (L), Ben Logan (L) = 0-3

Ben Logan - Triad (W), West Liberty Salem (W), Kenton Ridge (W)= 3-0
North Union - Marion Pleasant (L), Triad (W), Danville (W) = 2-1
Graham - West Liberty Salem (W), Minster (W), Shawnee (L) = 2-1
Urbana - West Jefferson (L), Ft. Recovery (L), Northland (W) = 1-2
Indian Lake - Anna (L), Fairbanks (L), Riverside (L) = 0-3
Northwestern - Southeastern (L), Greenon (L), Miami East (L) = 0-3

Hats of to the ADs and coaches, I think there is some strong scheduling going on in the conference.

Great info Gamma

I need to redo my predications. I have screwed up the schedules and had way too many windows open at one time.

Lets try this schedule and predictions.

Bellefontaine - Sidney (W), Coldwater (W), Licking Heights (W) = 3-0
London - St. Marys (L), Chillicothe (W), Marion Franklin (W) = 2-1
Tecumseh - Fairborn (W), Carroll (W), Bellbrook (L) = 2-1
Shawnee - Valley View (L), Eaton (L), Graham (W) = 1-2
Alder - Amanda Clearcreek (L), Buckeye Valley (W), Bloom Carroll (L) = 1-2

Bellefontaine has a good shot at Coldwater. Being much larger school and having a talented offense.

I like what you did Gamma. Not sure about the Chiefs over Coldwater. Probably a toss up game. Hard to go against that tradition though.

Is Jonathan Alder projected to be down? I would be surprised if JA goes 1-2. Amanda Clearcreek, Buckeye Valley & Bloom Carroll is a nice early season schedule. AC will be ok but winnable, Buckeye Vally should be a W and Bloom Carroll lost a lot and their head coach, I would think this is a tossup.

Alder had 11 all conference players in 2021. They lost 8 of them. Take that for what it’s worth but definitely holes to fill. I wouldn’t count them out though. Great program.

Alder 42-9 over Amanda-Clearcreek
BL 21-6 over Triad
BHS 43-13 over Sidney
Tecumseh 43-13 over Sidney
Mechanicsburg 14-3 over KR
