Anyone bid on the online liquidation auctions?

Go Buckeyes
I've bought quite a few good things. I don't mention it to often but it seems everytime I bring it up to someone, they have bought stuff regularly there too.

Just curious if others on here find some deals at these auctions?

Here are a couple:

Basically, these are mostly returns to Amazon. Some of the stuff is in very good shape, others, not so much. It's a crap shoot. They do take pictures but it is like they take the worst possible picture just to annoy the users.

You bid online and then pickup at an auction distribution warehouse. I've been to one in Stow and Strongsville.

I try to get things that are very useful that don't have much chance to be in bad shape. The best stuff I've gotten so far probably has been some kitchen stuff from Cuisinart. Most have been around 10%-20% of retail value.

It is addicting, especially when you are looking for something specific and hold to a strict limit. I was looking for a new air fryer for about a month before I was finally able to get one. It retailed for $219 and I got it for $45. Saw several others go for $80+ but that was too risky for me if they were damaged.

I used to buy a ton of stuff from there...I would buy big 8 foot whiteboards for sometimes $1.00 and sell them for $100. Bought a water fountain (yard) for $5.00..repaired a part and sold it for $225

The utter disregard for our resources is so evident when you walk in those places :(

These are getting really popular. We have a local one in Stow that I pick stuff up from once in a while. It really is a risk as you can get great stuff for a cheap price but you can also get sucked in and bid too much for something that turns out to be junk. Anyone else buying from these liquidation auctions?

Mostly, these are returns for big retailers like Amazon.

I'm feeling deja vu all over again. Or, is it just senility creeping in?

But, to answer the question... no I haven't. Interesting though.

I thought I posted it before but couldn't find it. Glad I wasn't going crazy but the senility is a little worrisome!!

Maybe this time, a few more people will admit to it. I know that last year, I was getting a number of very good things that I've had stored in my garage until the last couple of weeks. Glad to finally be able to use some of the stuff.

Sadly, the prices have gone up considerably. There are people bidding more for items than you can buy them on Amazon for now. IMO, that is crazy. You can almost always return an Amazon item when there is something wrong. Much more difficult at the auction sites.

I look but I have only won one thing so far, a vanity light that had been returned at Lowes. $4 and it worked. I used the M@C site.

'Senility' was in reference to me, however.....

Now, you had me wondering for a sec when I saw the thread went back to 11/5/24. Aha! Merged. 😃

I've heard of that place but haven't registered yet. I'll post later tonight some of my favorites. Maybe I can flip some of them to people who might be interested.

Here is something that I got for a good price. Retails for $200-$400. I thought it would be cool for a mancave...or might just flip it.

On a similar note, has anybody tried out any of the bins stores? They are a similar concept with smaller items, with the price on the items dropping each day. There's one in Kent that seems to have a lot of Target items and one in Stow with Amazon returns.

I went to the one in Kent one time. I'm totally new to them but I apparently went on a bad day in the middle of the week. Spoke to a friend in the store that told me the best days are the first day and the last day. First day I believe was $15 per item but they would have great stuff sometimes that was worth way more. Last day is really cheap but still can get some really good deals.

Went to one in Columbus that is all amazon returns.

Each day everything is the same price. I think Friday everything is 10 bucks, amd by next Thursday it down to like a dollar. Some stuff u know what it is...most you don't. You can often google the sku from the box and know what it is.

Can be very tedious but went once and got 3 things that I was able to find out what they were. The Bluetooth headphones were outright horseshit because the design as awful. They were completely touch with no buttons so wverytime ya touched it for any reason it would stop, skip, mute...awful and can see why someone returned them
