Another school shooting

Do you EVER get tired of hearing yourself talk?

This stopped being an issue a decade ago when 20 children aged 7 and below were gunned down and basically nothing happened at any level. It happens over and over and over and over and over every single year, we have the same conversations, the same debates are held, the same people get angry, etc.

Gun culture is too engraved into American culture for anything to change. One side brandishes every gun incident as a catalyst to ban all guns while the other seems adamant that adding more guns or not restricting any access to guns will help solve it. No real progress is ever made. People forget about the tragedy and the debate and move on with your lives. Then it happens again and the cycle repeats itself.
Guns, guns, guns!! ???. Kill everyone !!, kids too!!

I volunteered mentoring boys thru the juvenile court in my county for 14 years.

Liberal-progressives look at juveniles who commit crimes and think in terms of govt programs, gun control, etc.

I look at a kid who was born with barely a chance and think about a married mom and dad who love each other and unconditionally love their kid while teaching with consistent, sound discipline. And you realize that there is no law or program that can adequately substitute for that.

But sometimes, one person invests and believes in that kid, and he makes a turn. Other times, you visit that kid as an adult in prison - and you get this sick feeling that this was his destiny when he was conceived.
Real world sucks so let’s not give that pre conceived criminal a gun.

40 years ago, America (guns were everywhere) rarely had school shootings, what changed? The liberals (and society) devaluing life (abortion) maybe has a lot to do with it. Don't want that baby just get an abortion (kill it), after all it is such an inconvenience, well it is not an it is a human being (but that is just semantics), if it is ok to kill babies en masse, what is a school shooting where 4 lives are snuffed out, I mean they are just it's that were not aborted.

The people that talk about banning all guns is a minuscule minority and nobody takes them serious. 90% of the discussion is common sense.

I agree. Both sides have the loons that help to make this never have any real progress.

But it happens over and over and nothing gets done. And it is never going to change

More batsh*t crazy stuff. Abortion causes school shootings. That post is evidence that we might need more abortion not less.

These are tragic outlier incidents. You fools take them and superimpose over your least-common-denominator legal wish lists of extra-Constitutional BS. You do so based upon your feelings and theories, and your feelings and theories coming from what passes for the "leadership level", low and behold, are exposed as just more BS. Time after time. We can no more stop this via gun legislation than your climate legislation nonsense will keep Manhattan from being underwater at the "appointed time"- by which I mean that it will happen exclusive of any "mitigation" efforts . All BS.

Some of us are done going along to get along. We'll find out how many in 2022.

Keep selling BS, please. Sell it right from the DNC.

Forest fires are set by climate activists, lately, but they are still a normal and natural part of coniferous dominated southwestern forests. And you people are still a collection of liars and morons.

Late term abortion.

What if, the answer has to do with human nature and the human heart?

I think the best humans can do is ask ourselves what we can do to promote good human hearts. A gun in the hand of a trained person with good intentions is not a danger to anyone. And then we can see what we can do about limiting access to people with bad hearts and intentions.

For sure, in a place where there isn't an explicit right to own firearms, gun control is pretty simple and straightforward. But that's not the US.

I think if we focused more on what is achievable, we would be less frustrated with what isn't.

So, if a kid drives a car in to a crowd of people and kills several, should the parents be charged if they bought the car? Can't protect a free society from nut cases unless the country wants to do like the Dems want to and go full socialist.
Providing access to a known nutcase is a crime....letting you 8 yo drive a car is a crime. Actually encouraging your 15 yo to drive a car is a crime. Parents will get sued for providing the murder weapon to an unfit child...negligence. Probably criminal but that is dependent on our crazy gun laws that have been written by the NRA to protect gun owners not victims of mass shootings.

Please cite crazy gun laws.

People exist all over this planet, but the US is the only industrialized nation where this happens year-in and year-out to the point where it doesn't even register with us anymore.

And unfortunately, you cannot measure the goodness in someone's heart. This is uniquely a US problem and it's not going to change

No it is not.
If you're between 15½ and 18 years old and want to get an Ohio learners permit (temporary instruction permit), you'll need to complete a BMV-approved drivers education course. You can start drivers ed once you are 15 years and 5 months old.

It's a cultural thing. But you have no solution to the problem.

This isn't a gun cultural thing. They fact that you don't know this, means you will never find a solution.
