And the Next Ohio State Football Coach Will Be?

And OSU beat the 2nd and 3rd place teams and lost to the league champions early in the year, at their stadium, 3 time zones away, lost by 1 point and mismanaged the clock and prevented themselves from having the opportunity to win the game. But yeah, tell me how important a league championship is. How did the Big 10 champion and number one team in the nation do in the playoffs?
They did just like the other 3 teams that got a bye following their conference championship game, got smoked.

No weeping going on here. Just can't get too excited over backing into a title. Feels like striking out with the bases loaded but the catcher mishandled the ball and now I'm standing at first having just "driven in" the winning run. But hey enjoy your shirt. Most people do not see it my way.
Not sure anyone sees it your way. Why werent you complaining when OSU was seeded 8th? I didnt see one post from you saying they dont belong in the playoffs. Sounds like sour grapes stating this after the fact.

They were a top 12 team. No complaint with where they were seeded. My point is they , the team with the most talent , lost two regular season games so they-

1-should not be considered the best in the nation
2- regular season accomplishments are minimized in favor of post season performance if all that matters is winning the last four games.

I just like the model of the regular season and conference championship to matter more than they do if a fourth place team in a conference can get hot and win the playoffs, then get recognized as the best, it diminishes the value of a conference champion.

So in my mind, if that's where were going, stop the conference championship games. I prefer the way it was with 4 top teams who were conference champions continuing on to determine the final champ over this system where a team gets a do over.

They did not back into anything. They beat 6 of the top 8 teams in the final rankings (everyone except Georgia) by an average of 15 points. Georgia would have suffered the same fate.

If you are an OSU fan (seems unlikely) and cannot enjoy this championship, I feel sorry for you. There are doctors and medicine that can help you.

Not a big fan of the NFL, huh ?

You are saying that all 4 conferences champions lost after their bye week? Playing in and winning their conference championship game apparently was a big help in the Natty playoff. Teams that are already penciled in to play in the playoffs, what is the positive side of playing in their conference championship? Risk injuries and get a bye? All four teams with a bye lost. Looks like playing in the first round of the playoffs is more beneficial. The new reality, for Ohio State is to beat Michigan and make the playoffs. The conference is to large and the schedule per team can not be equal. Indiana was the second best team in the Big10. :ROFLMAO:

For now and quite possibly for years to come the Big 12 is irrelevant. With Texas and Oklahoma going to the Sec, who are the Big 12 blue blood teams? The ACC with Clemson, Florida State and Miami still has the possibility of having teams that can compete for a Natty. The Big 12 doesn't have that "team."
