All-Time Playoff Scores (1972-2023)

Toledo Whitmer had to forfeit all their football and basketball wins after the 2015-16 season was played when the OHSAA determined the Panthers used an ineligible player.
Canton McKinley is awarded a win 1-0.
Toledo Whitmer games are all 0-1 losses.
I'm fairly certain that was 2011-12 school year.

So, nothing should change regarding your year in question, and McKinley still had the L.

Edit: you could claim it in '11 since McKinley played(and technically lost as well) to the Panthers.

I stand corrected. It was in 2011-12 when Whitmer had to forfeit their games.
As the McKinley historian, this game is counted in the Bulldog record books as a 1-0 win.

Good question. Was thinking about it, and I have all the scores from last season, but i never had to flag playoff and non-playoff games like in 2020 that were being played in same week. I previously just pulled Weeks 11-15.

Here's a summary of teams with 50 or more playoff games. (Revised to decouple Steubenville and Steele)

I think you combined Steele and Steubenville.
Yes, my mistake. Thanks for the catch. The page break between Steele and Steubenville got me. The table in the original post has been corrected and now shows Steubenville (after decoupling it from Steele).

EagleFan,

I have the announced locations for all playoff games prior to the year 2000 which is the first year that the OHSAA have the locations listed on their website. I don't know if that is something you wanted to add to the current results but if it is let me know and I can get that information to you.

Marion local now 90 and 12.
Couple thoughts...
Like a regular season 9 and 1, but doing it in the playoffs
On average if you just went to playoff games '5 playoff game average' you will watch them loose about once every 2 years in the finals.

Then you look at the rest of their league, Coldwater, St henry, Versailles, Delphos St john, ect. and you see similar numbers...often the easiest part of the schedule is the playoffs.

I think one of the reasons Ml is so dominant IS because those kids play so many games and have so much experience by the time they are seniors compared to most of their opponents. Some of those kids have played in 40+ games. And it just goes on and on. They are a true dynasty like never seen before in Ohio. Experience in high school is everything. Their playoff record is amazing. Kudos to that program and coach.

Hey I changed two scores for you with Lake....at least on this reply....Lake lost to St. V in the 1972 semi-final 42 t0 6....not 42 to 16....and beat Columbus Watterson 14 to 13 in 1997....not 14 to 3.....otherwise it looks great!

I'll fix the 72 one. THe 97 score is listed as 14-3 in a couple places on OHSAA:

Thanks for the info....we have double checked our scores but every now and then we find a mistake...I looked at Watterson's websites and they had one that listed all the scores and who they have played...they had the score 14 to 3 also...I will get our info corrected

The reason I even remember this is because it came up when I was researching the tiny D4 basketball school in 2013 named Villa Anthony St Joseph. That was the same school who in 1985 or 1986 faced off against Dunbar in the big school state finals held in Dayton that year. On their basketball team was a little guy who came off the bench named Desmond Howard and a well known quarterback named Elvis Grbac.

Someone mentioned that thise two plus another couple guys on their football team all made it to the NFL. if accurate, that would be 4 players from st Joseph 's that year and who might they have played who could have had a couple on their team? I have no idea as I did not follow football back then, but that would be a good area to look for several in one game.
