Boardman / Madison

Perry / Ellett

Odds appear to be pretty good that a FL team makes it to the final 4 and perhaps even an all FL regional final.

I don't know much about Madison. Anyone have any info? How's their pitching?

As to Perry / Ellett, I do not see this one being close.

Thoughts?

I don't know anything about Madison this year, however Boardman beat them 4-0 last year in the district semis w/ basically the same team.

I'd caution you about writing off Ellet. You might end up getting surprised. Ellet has a history of being a very good softball team, and while they do have a habit of struggling in the post-season, they are very unlikely to be an easy out. They're #1 is 20-5 and they just knocked out the squad who eliminated #2 ranked Hudson.

I do not believe anyone from Perry is looking past anyone. We know that we need to take one game at a time. Every game will be a hard fought battle from this point on...GO PANTHERS

The pitcher Ellet will bring tomorrow is as good as almost any Perry's seen in the Federal League. The question will be the fielding behind her as nobody has found a way to completely shut down Perry's hitters.

What do you mean from this point on? Were not the others a hard fought battle?

wow dont take it so personal. Every game in the stark county D1 district are played hard! Never ment to say that the other games were not taken as serious!

What about the regular season and the federal league games?

You are able to edit an earlier response if you choose to do so.

No edit is needed. You cannot see the difference between a regular season game and a tournament game? If you lose a regular season game or a FL game, you still can win a State Title. If you lose a tournament game, then all you may have is a league title. Depends on what is more important to you.

Not sure why one would be hard fought and not the others.

Perry Wins 4-3.

Ellet was up 3-0 after 2 and held the lead till the bottom of the 6th. Perry scored 3 runs in the bottom of the 6th and scored another run in the bottom of the 7th to win the game.

Congrats to both PERRY & BOARDMAN on ensuring the Federal League, the greatest softball league in the state, is ONCE AGAIN represented at States!!!! Great job, ladies!!

At this point, I know I usually take a neutral route and don't root for either team. But I have to admit, I'm a bit partial to Perry, because they are the only FL team to still have not won that elusive team state title, something Boardman has already had the pleasure of doing this year.

Regardless, though - I'll be delighted to cheer on EITHER team next Thursday afternoon. Wish we would've had the 5:30pm game - I'd have actually attended it. :dang: I'll try & get down on Saturday, if one of y'all make it.

Polar Purple ... Nice list and research.
You need to add to your list: 1993 Austintown Fitch, State runners up.

J-Tull, I believe it's just a list of titles/finishes from when the current teams were in the league

Perry Wins 3 - 2 !!

Perry girls win Regional!! Down 0-2 bottom of 7th. Bases clearing hit to win!! 3-2. HOLY CATS!!:)

Going into the bottom of the 7th down 2-0 the Panthers came roaring back to score 3 runs to win the right to play in the final 4 next week GO PANTHERS

Wow kinda' disappointed I missed this one..... congrats to both teams on a great game and best of luck to Perry next weekend.. they've got things going their way alright :thumb:

who had the hit? who was pitching for boardman? did they make a pitching change? how many outs were there.

the details are lacking.....:)

DiDomenico was pitching for the Spartans. She had a 2-0 in the bottom of the 7th and had a one hitter going until the Panthers rallied. Abbey Fillez started the inning with a single. Then Morgan McLaughlin popped up between the mound and first, but with miscommunication in the infield and a high sun, the ball dropped, but Boardman still had a chance to get Fillez running to second, but an errant throw went into left field making both runners safe. DiDomenico then struck out a batter and Perry's Anna Fach followed with a single, loading the bases. Shelbi Tilton then hit a double to the gap that cleared the bases for the Panthers win.
