I might say the same about you since you have never heard of Poland. Let's hope for a Greenville/Poland final. The Poland pitcher is better than good, and she is not at full strength. I don't follow high school softball religiously across the state, but I am aware of most of the top schools year in and year out. Greenville obviously wasn't one of them.
why the need to mention that the poland pitcher is not at full strength? either she is able to pitch or not. again the point has been made many times that she is good, I have no doubt that she is. i have seen many excellent pitchers this year at all levels. the fact that she was invited to try out for the national team is a great honor. making it is the next step. I know a player who was invited a few years back as a freshman and as a spohmore and she was as good as any player i have ever seen. unfortunately she did not make it but she made the most of the opportunity. just because a player is invited does not make them unbeatable. there is no such thing. being a prohibative favorite has a way of motivating quality teams and players. nothing like beating a team (or in this case a player) who has been annointed as "the best ever". let the kids play it out on the field and see what happens. no doubt it will be a great state final no matter who is there. they always are. many times I have seen the proclaimed best pitcher go home with a solid 2nd place finish.
