3/14 Scrimmages

Mason Comets

There seems to be a great deal of scrimmages all over the state today. If you went to or played in one, let us know who looked good. Who looked bad. Who was a surprise or disappointment.

Try to lay off getting personal and just stick to the facts. Report on your team (objectively) and your opponents. Strengths, weaknessess, etc.

Thanks

MC

Was @ Moe playday

Only got to see one game (30 minutes running time).

Moe destroyed Mariemont.

Warriors offeense was weak only Rossen played well.
Warriors Defense and goalie play was poor. Defense was more worried about trying to hit people and Moe made them look bad.

Moe was solid in the goal and defense was too physical for Mariemont. Moe middies looked okay, not real sharp but appear to have potential. Moe offense looked quick and skilled.

Only game I saw so I appreciate review of other games.this game

i agree with pretty much everything u said, we got destroyed

First, thanks to the folks at Moeller for putting this scrimmage together. Good competition, great facilities and the weather even cooperated this year.

I missed most of the Mason and Mariemont "warm up" scrimmage, but I think Mason won by a couple of goals.

Mason played Moeller in their first full scrimmage. Thirty minute running clock. Mason won 4 to 1. Mason's offense looks a bit rusty, but you can see some potential there ans should get better as the season goes on. The defense looks very good and should be one of the strong points of the team this year.

Scott Spencer looked very good today in goal.

Second game Mason loses to Sycamore 2 to 0. Game was very physical and was starting to get out of hand at the end. Mason had a lot of shots on goal, but could not put in the net. Sycamore's stick skills were not that great. A real difference from last year.

I did get a chance to watch X briefly. They are GOOD! They should definitely dominate SW Ohio this year.

Good luck to all teams as season gets underway in a couple of weeks.

The Moe scrimmages were just that and you can take what you want from them. I would not get all bent out of shape if my team played poorly (IH & MM). There were lots of substitutions on all fronts by all teams.

My grades..I would appreciate if you think I am off base.

St. X - A
Sycamore - A-
Mason - B
Moeller - B
Summit - B
LW - C+
IH - C
MM - D

i don't particularly think aj played well at all

No, not his best. But again, it is early and alot of guys got PT, that may not see it later. These things are good to get out and work against other guys who don't know the plays. Other than that, they are still just glorified practices...

AJ will be his normal wall, once the stakes are higher.

I wasn't particularly impresse with Moeller. Against mason their offense looked stagnant and their defense didn't impress me that much either. St.x looked like the best team in R4 for sure their offense looked like it was clicking. It also looked like teams had some guys sitting out b/c of injury (IH, St.X, Summit).

When it's all said and done these are scrimmages and are really just to shake the offseason rust. Should be a fun spring to watch lacrosse in R4
