2026 Season

In D1 I’d expect St. I to be the favorite because, I believe, they return quite a bit from this year’s team. Looks like they only graduate a MB and their libero

In D2, I’m not really sure, but do think McNick’s run is over. The 4 teams that made state lose most, if not all, or some really key players so it does feel like it could be wide open. Loveland, Badin and Fenwick all return good cores, though

I'll be interested to see if there are any divisional realignments with more teams joining the scene year after year. I know there has been some frustration among coaches with some differences in region sizes, wouldn't be surprised to see a potential Div3 sprout up in the next few years. The tough part about an expansion like this is scarcity of a few regions. Southwest Ohio is really the region losing out because of how many teams exist, and the smaller and newer schools have to bite the bullet come tournament time.

Would be fun to see it keep growing! I think there was upwards of 140 teams in the tournament across both divisions? But there’s always some teams that choose not to participate so there’s likely more than that. Would still need quite a few new programs to pop up to get to 3 divisions, though. I think it’d have to grow to at least 180 or so

Correct. They also lose their DS who went back row for their OPP, but as of right now, their lineup is mostly intact.. Likely Iggy is the 'way too early' favorite.

OH1 - Ragon
OH2 - Rossetti
MB1 -
MB2 - Van Ginkel
OPP - Schaefer
S - Brobbey
L -
DS -

Other 'way too early' DI teams to watch: X, Moeller, Jackson, Hudson

This might sounds a bit crazy, but I think StX will be better next season. They are losing some good Seniors and at the same time they return their OH1, MB1, and Libero. That MB at times was really raw this past season, he is only going to get better. It has also been mentioned they might of had a better Setter in the program last season but the Senior got the nod because he was a Senior. I expect St Ig and StX to battle it out again next season.

You could be right. Between their Varsity, JV and Freshman teams (according to X's website which could very well not be totally accurate because it feels like it's missing matches), the program went a combined 50-5 this year.
