2025 Three Rivers Conference.

I get it. Respect to your opinion. My point is that Milton NEEDS to challenge itself more. It used to be a high tier program and Pearce has brought that back, but in today’s hs football, you need to be more like , Valley View, Brookville, Bellbrook, etc. Sure, in most years Badin especially, would have an easy time with Milton. My point is Clinton Massie, Coldwater, Valley View play a schedule that WOULD include those schools.
Carroll, Fenwick, CJ aren’t traditionally that good. But you don’t get better if you don’t play better; and that’s at all levels. This last year they could’ve competed against Versailles but they went in expecting to lose to mighty Versailles from the MAC. Versailles had a mediocre season. Valley View should never intimidate Milton. That’s what happened last year. Play these guys more and get tougher and expect to win.
Playing Graham, Oakwood and Northridge won’t prepare you.

It's official. Riverside to the OHC. I've enjoyed the competition in the TRC as an alumni and fan. A big step up from the NWCC. With the uncertainty around the TRC after Bethel announced their departure, I don't blame Riverside at all for leaving for the OHC.

Trotwood will NOT be joining the league for football. They will be joining for all other sports though. They are deciding to be independent in football (which is 100% the right move). Stivers will be joining for football most likely and Jefferson barely fields a team, so I’d say there’s a 90% chance the DPS will be a 6 team league in 2027 when the TRC goes to 6 teams
You are correct! However, it will hurt them in basketball too, DPS does not have strong athletics and the glory days of Trotwood athletics is coming to an end, maybe after next season. Northridge if they were in DPS League and Trotwood would be the best hoop teams in the city next season.

I agree 100% with you. Trotwood will be hurting badly playing a DPS basketball schedule. They should’ve tried to be independent In that as well. As for football, they are scheduling way too hard… and it’s going to hurt them. Their schedule this year is BRUTAL!

Well, they have a strong senior class this upcoming season plus the transfer of the all-world D-lineman from Dunbar, they expect to make a deep run this year but after this year it may be a while. Plus in football, all you have to do is win one game and you're in, they'll be fine they've had several brutal schedules in the past and they have a veteran coaching staff.

What are some schedule changes that you’re seeing with the 2 teams leaving the league? I know Milton has Graham this year added in place of Valley View. Maybe dograt can enlighten. Miami East? Covington? Etc. I hear Versailles goes away after this year for MU?

MU and Graham. That could be a dandy. Don't know what your dogs bring to the table but I feel Clark has the Falcons on the right track. A lot of Sophs on last years team that got better in the latter half of the year. They took Indian Lake, Region Finalist, to the wire (Ben Logan loss is a WTF moment)...they should be much improved this year.

From most of this thread, it sounds as though the TRC is in a really difficult position on numbers of teams, and how to fill schedules.
I'm sure @ghsknightsfan and/or @footballsalads43 could solve those issues. Maybe the powers need to consult with them, LOL, No pressure on those cats but they seem to have their finger on the pulse. With the right teams filling the Bethel and Riverside slots, this can still be a competitive conference. I just hope they don't fold up and the other schools need to look elsewhere.

Hey, I’m willing to solve some issues! Have the TRC vote me In as assistant commissioner of the conference! 🤣

I want full benefits though… think they can shell that out??

The TRC was doomed from the beginning. Covington ended up going through a rough spot, Ft Loramie declined the invite. It’s just a matter of time before this conference implodes. No one wants to join at this point. Most of these schools will be traveling quite a bit in weeks 4-5.
The community continuity never transpired. It’s a shame.

Just a brainstorm here, but would the TRC be able to expand west? Teams like Twin Valley South, Tri-County North, Ansonia? I'm not sure how strong their allegiance is to their current conference?

I really was a bit surprised that the WOAC voted against merging with the TRC… would have been a great fit. I think the smaller schools in the WOAC would benefit from it

I think the WOAC schools feel like they are in a pretty good position right now. The conference is competitive, travel (for the most part) is reasonable, and it has produced several teams who have made fantastic tournament runs. I don't think there is a perfect fit for anyone from the TRC to join the WOAC. Covington would probably be the most logical choice if one team joined but the disdain for Covington still runs deep for many of the former CCC teams.

Not sure I agree with there being distain for a school that has children competing.
TRC will stick around until Miami East decides to bolt. They are already talking filling schedules with Dayton City schools.

I'm hearing Covington will have around 40 kids out this season. Much better than what it was a couple years ago.

Unless the TRC teams want to travel two hours for a game, scheduling Dayton Public is probably the only way to go.

Anybody else see the Matt Light article about Greenville? Max Current was in a picture as an assistant coach. I didn't realize he went over there.

The "disdain" is not directed towards the kids, but rather towards the adults that act a certain way.
