Yea. Been there since the late 80s.It doesn't matter how many seats MU has on the home side, you'd still be in the West end zone!

Actually the ceremony is today. Here is the link to what they plan to do: https://bucctownusa.com/smith-field-stadium-upgrades/. The people I talked to (she works for the school) are "cautiously optimistic" about the project. The last major upgrade to the facilities in 2000 had large public support and donations. The town has changed, so the school is footing most of the bill.I heard Covington is having a ground breaking ceremony today for the track/stadium renovations they're going to do over the summer. Getting 25 years out of a track is pretty impressive. A new press box and a few other improvements are on the list too. Hope it goes smoothly!
I think they redid the grass a few years ago. Looks like the project is everything around the field.I take it they are staying with natural turf?
I’ve seen single wide trailers better than Tipp.I think it might still be better than Tipp City…
The good news is the schedules are in place for a couple years until the change happens. Hopefully that gives the AD's time to find teams to fill the schedules. Lehman just fired their AD though, so they have to replace him first. This is going to get old real quick. They need to get a plan together and recruit Ft Loramie really hard and even reach out to a spencerville, etc.
what a mess.
But why would Loramie or Spencerville even consider? That place has been a joke since I played against them in the early 80s used to use an old pool house that was barely big enough for our team. They do have turf though…
So with the possibility of the TRC moving to 6 schools, the question of non conference comes to the surface.
My opinion for MU is…
Week 1: Arcanum
Week 2: Graham
Week 3: Ft Loramie
Week 4: Search high and low for someone north of I70. Maybe a NWCC school…
Week 5: Dayton City League school. Dunbar?
Weeks 6-10 conference rotation

I think a DPS scheduling agreement would be best. Maybe not ideal, but having those two weeks locked up until you get two members to join will make life so much easier in regards to scheduling. I think the DPS schools would be more than happy to do it as well.No doubt that weeks 4 and 5 will be tough to fill, as 95% of teams are playing league schedules by week 4.
seems like 3 choices:
1-find 2 independent schools who want to play our league schedule.
2- find another league with only 6 teams. 6-team leagues are few and far between, but Dayton Public does fit the bill.
3-every man for himself. 6 teams all looking for independent games the same weeks seems tough.
The long term goal obviously is to find 2 schools to join the league. Nobody wants in now, but maybe things change in the next 2+ years
That does not work for the smallest TRC schools. The larger 3, sure.I

I think just about any of the TRC schools could compete with Ponitz the last couple of years. That does not work for the smallest TRC schools. The larger 3, sure.

It would work fine for Troy Christian, Lehman and Covington. Outside of Dunbar and Meadowdale the DPS is really bad, and Dunbar and Meadowdale are also below average teams at best. I think it works fineI think just about any of the TRC schools could compete with Ponitz the last couple of years.
I doubt those teams would downgrade their conference play. If I was a bettin man, the only conference Fort would join is the MAC (and probably will wait however long in the NWC until fruition), and Spencerville won't ever leave the NWC.But why would Loramie or Spencerville even consider?
Maybe if Parkway was about 30 mins more south they could potentially be swayed to join the TRC.I doubt those teams would downgrade their conference play. Riverside to the OHC. It hasn’t been made official, but it’s pretty much all but confirmed.I don't recall seeing it posted (I apologize). Has the other team leaving for the OHC/CBC (I can't remember which) been announced yet?
Troy Christian played Meadowdale last year. Matching them and Covington up with Stivers and Ponitz in weeks 4 and 5 makes at least a little sense. That does not work for the smallest TRC schools. The larger 3, sure.
If they couldn’t be swayed to join the NWC, they aren’t going to join any other conference. That was their best betMaybe if Parkway was about 30 mins more south they could potentially be swayed to join the TRC.
Loramie isn’t going to leave the gates and rivalries of the SCL for this league, esp with football having a home.I doubt those teams would downgrade their conference play. They were invited in for football only (and girls tennis maybe?). They weren't asked to leave the SCAL.Loramie isn’t going to leave the gates and rivalries of the SCL for this league, esp with football having a home.
Well.. if you think a school like Loramie has girls tennis... I'm not sure your sources are correct. They were invited in for football only (and girls tennis maybe?). They weren't asked to leave the SCAL.
If the TRC had done it 2-3 years ago it would've worked. Now that FL has found a football home, they're going to stay for awhile.
girls golf?Well.. if you think a school like Loramie has girls tennis... I'm not sure your sources are correct.
Regardless... The only conference change Loramie would accept anymore is the MAC. Even then, DSJ would need to leave, and they would have to be convinced to come over for every sport... not just football. Asking Russia to come along for all sports may sweeten the deal for them, but I doubt that happens.
Please elaborate on these cultural differences. There is no real option right now. Better hope East or Lehman doesn’t decide to bolt. Adding any sport vs Dayton City schools is asking for trouble. I remember Milton playing Patterson down at Welcome and that was 30 years ago. It was sketchy. The Cincinnati schools we’ve played have been sketchy. Aken in the playoffs a few years back got heated and that was at home.too many cultural differences. IMHO.
I don’t think cultural differences should keep you from playing football games. Milton vs Meadowdale and Dunbar would be decent matchups. Please elaborate on these cultural differences.
I agree. Just hoping BEA would elaborate on what he means.I don’t think cultural differences should keep you from playing football ganew. Milton vs Meadowdale and Dunbar would be decent matchups.
