2025 Tallmadge Football

Right now, the baseball team is really struggling. Getting on the new field could help re-energize the program.
That new field is depressing. It looks like a little league field with that baby back stop. Not to mention that every new HS field that has went in the last 5 years has had at least a turf infield because of the amount of rain that we get in the spring. If I was Kenny Linn, I’d be beyond pissed!!!! If you’re not going to put much effort or thought into something you probably shouldn’t put it on a main road for everyone to see. It’s actually kind of embarrassing.

It looks like new dugouts and stands are currently going in. As I understood it, they just ran out of money. I believe the complete backstop is in the works.

Why does he stay at Tallmadge? Why not leave for a school that support athletics. He brought them a state title and this is the crap they pull?

The big news in Tallmadge is that they narrowed the entrance to the circle on West Ave down to one lane starting at Sperry Avenue.

No more cars traveling in the left lane passing dozens of cars and then merging at the last second. Only took a couple hundred years to figure this one out...

That's a shame. You are supposed to use both lanes and enter in zipper formation. These people that do not know how to drive always just stay in the one lane then get mad at me when I zoom by them!

I've been told by my cop friend that you can still use both lanes any time you want. They narrowed it for the out of towners.

Just drove by earlier. They really just paused construction? It doesn’t look like that much more money would be needed.

I think he meant they run out of money when the construction of the field was started. I'm guessing they will finish the dugouts shortly.

They had stopped for while but have just recently started back up with the dugouts. It's pretty disappointing as we passed a levy for athletic facilities.

Oh ok. My kids won’t be in high school for about 10 years. Maybe they’ll be done by then.
If you want Tallmadge baseball to be great again, keep them in Tallmadge Little League. The last state championship rosters in baseball and softball all came through TLL. Too many kids are now leaving to play travel ball only and the depth is suffering. Playing both LL and travel greatly benefits the community.

Local rec leagues will be gone in another 10 years. No way to sustain it anymore.

Probably. Tallmadge has built a good thing with top notch youth facilities. They've also done a good job of providing travel ball on weekends with rec ball on weekdays. If the parents can continue seeing the big picture, no reason for it to end. Can't count how many 10u baseball and softball stars are out of the sport by the time they turn 14. Rec is fun because it is competitive with your friends a few minutes away from home. If you want more, you can have more by joining a travel team. Plus, the Little League World Series is far better known than any travel ball championship.

If I recall, a Tallmadge LL team made it to the LL World Series.

They were working on the dugouts today for the baseball field. Slowly but surely, this field will be ready for the home opener...sometime in the near or distant future.
