When I grew up in Stow in the 80s, Stow as a conservative town with a very good school system and sports programs as well. Sad to see what it has turned into over the years.

This board will undergo a dramatic change in the November election. Three moderate to conservative candidates will run and this will begin to transform things. If you look back and look at how bad the bond issue fail that was the fiscal moderate to conservative part of Stow & Munroe Falls saying we've had enough.

The Rockne's at Steels Corners - I can't say it was going downhill but we noticed prices kept creeping up over the last 10 years...a lot.
I know, what restaurant hasn't, right? But, still... for the quality of the food, the price point just wasn't as worth it as we used to think it was. Rockne's has never been the cheapest game in town but now, other places are better at cheaper prices. Plus, the Rocknes menu decreased over time and they stopped carrying some of the items we used to like there. We stopped going shortly after COVID when they came back online and we noticed a change. Others may have alluded to this on here. We weren't destroyed or even surprised that much when we saw it closed.

Quality of food and the selection are both down. We've mentioned it to their managers hoping things would improve back to their golden era.

The school system sucks, and there’s no end insight. Stow is the new cuyahoga falls.

I understand what you are saying. But I'm not sure there is correlation there. When you look at the demographics of who voted for Kamala and who voted for Trump, you'll see many great school districts that voted Blue and many that voted Red. And look at the quality of public education in the red states. Oklahoma, WV - terrible. Generally speaking, blue states public education > red states.

I'm never a fan of one end of the spectrum controlling too much though. I think that is where the real problem is. Not Red vs Blue. It is too much groupthink vs independent points of view. Lack of balance is usually the problem. Not that they're red or blue.

Thats great. I like Cuyahoga Falls. Lots of cool restaurants there. I don't get down enough, but was in a "Speakeasy" in a pizza joint there. Best $30 old fashioned I ever had. :) Some folks in there told me that there are few other places just like it in the Falls. I need to check them all out, but my bank account won't like it.

Rockne's (on Stls Cors) used to be packed most weekend nights. There would be people waiting in the lobby for tables to clear. After COVID we noticed a gradual and increasing dropoff in customers. WE went from having it in our regular rotation (maybe once a month or so) to maybe going once or twice a year inside of just a few years' time. Last time we ate at any Rocknes was the one in Streetsboro and although decent we were shocked at the prices for basic food.
