He just got the job at Fostoria, but again it was a late hire so possibly.Wouldn’t be shocked in Gibsonburg goes out and gets a young guy. Angelone from Fostoria? He is a Gibsonburg alum

It's likely going to be awhile before there is any new news on the football front. Go post an NBC basketball thread and start going to your schools games.Been pretty quiet around here, how is each team looking? What team has the most talent? Coaching changes?
Genoa and Oak Harbor. I don’t know if they consider themselves rivals, but they have played the last 100 years or something like thatAlright, if you want talking points:
What is the best rivalry in the NBC? The only ones I really know of involve Eastwood.
That's something I didn't know.Genoa and Oak Harbor. I don’t know if they consider themselves rivals, but they have played the last 100 years or something like that
I think that one is off the schedule next year.Otsego and Bowling green? Back yard rivals
BG and otsego don’t play this year. Otsego has Elmwood week one. BG has Perrysburg.I think that one is off the schedule next year.
Is Eastwood playing Elmwood next year?
Remember when Oak Harbor fans wanted May gone - it took him a few years to build the program, but once there was consistency he has built a solid program.Mike May is somehow one of the least talked about coaches in the area, but that's a great staff. He and Rutherford are the clear 1 and 2, even in a league with a lot of great coaches. Cotterman is probably next on the list, but as you said, hard to judge a guy taking over such a good program. Karchner has done a really good job of running things and they'll be the most talented team in the league for awhile. He does also, let's be honest, rub a lot of people the wrong way. Genoa is never uncompetitive, but I think if there's any team in the league you can point to as slightly underperforming the talent they have, it would be them.
May did have a tough start at Oak Harbor following Quisino. His first 5 years 3-7 and some 5-5 and had fans wanting him fired. When in 2018 thing turning and keep going. Last 7 been great for May. Good Coach and good guy.Remember when Oak Harbor fans wanted May gone - it took him a few years to build the program, but once there was consistency he has built a solid program.
Really weak conference for rivals diving deep into it. Non-conference would have to be Maumee-Perrysburg (even though they rarely play) or Port Clinton-Oak Harbor.Alright, if you want talking points:

2024 Maumee 41-17 over Otsego. Some words exchanged between the coaches at the end of the game.Really weak conference for rivals diving deep into it. Non-conference would have to be Maumee-Perrysburg (even though they rarely play) or Port Clinton-Oak Harbor.
But in conference has to be Maumee-Otsego. It doesn’t make sense based on geography, but Otsego knocked Maumee out of a playoff birth in 2023 and that started a war between the 2 schools in every sport. Their Instagram barstool pages do nothing but talk smack to one another every other post.
Do you know what was said?2024 Maumee 41-17 over Otsego. Some words exchanged between the coaches at the end of the game.
Karchner a former DC for Rutherford. It has been building up.
R - Listen, I know that we started out as foe. But after that courageous act that you showed me against the one they call Derek, maybe someday we could become friends. Friends who ride majestic, translucent steeds, shooting flaming arrows across the bridge of Hemdale.Do you know what was said?
Absolutely agree with you. Much more history on whatever Instagram Barstool is, compared to Oak Harbor and Genoa who have played 100 times.Really weak conference for rivals diving deep into it. I had that same thought. How do high schools have Barstool accounts? What self respecting adult is paying attention to what kids post on instatweet?Absolutely agree with you. Much more history on whatever Instagram Barstool is, compared to Oak Harbor and Genoa who have played 100 times.
During the Vicars/Spiess regime at Genoa, Genoa/Eastwood had less love between them than a Kardashian marriage. That’s been the best rivalry since the NBC began.
Absolutely incredible quote referenceR - Listen, I know that we started out as foe. K - I would follow you into the mists of Avalon if that's what you mean.
*Heard this from a reliable source.
One that is 2 years removed from graduation and forgot to unfollow them on instagram lolI had that same thought. How do high schools have Barstool accounts? What self respecting adult is paying attention to what kids post on instatweet?
I know this is not apart of football or NBC but step brothers is one of the best movies/funniest movies I have ever watched.Absolutely incredible quote reference
Greg Bishop hired at NB
After I read that I figured there would be some gold to follow and if not I’d just HAVE to come up with something.Absolutely incredible quote reference
This might be a series that will continue after Maumee is able to grow their programs with some success against mostly smaller schools. I think Maumee's time in the NBC will be somewhat brief. It feels like a rebuilding strategy.Maumee doesn’t have a rival in the NBC, Rossford would probably be the closest thing, even the seniors this year said in an interview the Perrysburg game their sophomore year was the best atmosphere they played in. You just can’t manufacture a rivalry like that and I wish the coaches at Maumee were willing to take on the challenge in every sport of continuing to play them even if it meant a loss most years, possible injuries are the only real excuse imo.
I think they’ll stay with the NBC as long as the NBC will have them unless the NLL small schools break away entirely and even then it would take a lot of convincing. The impact in the girls sports has been immeasurable and I don’t see a time where all the programs are “rebuilt” enough that they’d willingly accept the competition those schools bring with them. I can’t really blame them but the accomplishments of each team feels devalued to an extent. This might be a series that will continue after Maumee is able to grow their programs with some success against mostly smaller schools. 1. Maumee would have to likely have Eastwood/Oak Harbor levels of league domination for Perrysburg to reschedule the game. They get 2 non-conference games, I doubt they’ll use one on MaumeeThis might be a series that will continue after Maumee is able to grow their programs with some success against mostly smaller schools. Perrysburg and Maumee play in 2027…1. Maumee would have to likely have Eastwood/Oak Harbor levels of league domination for Perrysburg to reschedule the game. They get 2 non-conference games, I doubt they’ll use one on Maumee
2. Let’s assume they did want to join: They would have to 1) hope the Catholic schools return or 2) Hope Napoleon leaves for the NWOAL or WBL. Both unlikely
It'll be fun to watch. I could see Maumee becoming competitive with OH and Eastwood year in and year out. The next few years will be telling.1. Okay, I was wrong. But is there a website you get to see future teams schedules? I usually get them when Joe Eitel updates his pagePerrysburg and Maumee play in 2027…
