2025 Massillon Tigers

Off topic but how does the PACtion thread have over 4k comments? That many people actually care about that league? No offense to the PAC fans ,but I got stuck going to a PAC game when I was in 8th grade because my friend was a Tuslaw fan and wanted me to go.My God wow what a boring and slow display of poor football that was. I don't see how anyone could get into watching that every week. Again this isn't no jab at fans of that league I just dont know how one could follow that.

Because that thread is largely not about football. You should read it; some of it is funny.

Bro, when I moved from Massillon to a small school all I could do was chuckle. I even saw Kirtland a couple times and I know they are GREAT in their division and all, but it's apples and orangutans compared to top 10 in upper divisions. But you adjust to it. The plus was my kids got to play any sport they felt like, lol.

I believe ya. I'll tell you this wasn't nothing like Kirkland though lol. I swear people got excited if a play went for more than 3 yards 😂 This was the worst display of farm league ball you could witness

Ok, but has he ever been a OC. Wonder if Willtrell Harston will stay at Ashland.

I'm pretty sure at Ashland he was the tight ends coach so I mean he has pretty good knowledge of what to do and this Friday he is doing a clinic on wide zone and some other run schemes. I think he will be fine you got to give people chances just because he ain't done it fully I'm pretty sure that's what he wants to do and life so I'm pretty sure he's going to be prepared for it.

I agree. I'm all for giving someone an opportunity. For me, regardless of who was or is going to be calling the plays. A couple things come to my mind immediately.

Let's get our best players/playmakers the ball. Have to have touches. Another thing is whoever calls the plays, they can draw it up better than anyone has before, but if we don't execute it then it doesn't matter who called it.

Let's give him a chance and see. Maybe he comes in with some new ideas and some fresh ideas of what we want to do. Things might take a little time and that's ok. I just hope we get to it asap which I'm sure that's the case. I think we've kinda all agreed to a certain level that we will be better later on offensively anyway with so many underclassmen. Who knows, maybe we come out and look good immediately. But let's give him his opportunity and not overreact after one or two weeks if things don't look great

I love the fact that he is a die hard Tiger, and that he has coached under Lee Owens. Neither of those can be a bad thing, unless your last name is Crable. Lol

I think the boring slow football is the reason why that thread has almost 4k. There’s hardly ever talk about the PAC but more about the establishments in the lands where PAC teams play. Many posts about Bellstores (as there should be) and the Dalton Dari-ette and Whitey’s Tavern, etc.

TBH Dari-ette talk is warranted. The best place to go in the summer.

Just curious which school? I'm not far from Kirtland

Yeah from what I heard not so much football talk lol. Curious why should there be talk about Bellstores? 😂 Is it a favorite establishment of the buckaroo's that attend PAC contest?

I think you don't quite understand high school football writ large. Massillon, Hoban, St. Ed, etc. are very much outliers. The "poor football" you degrade is much closer to the average level of play in the state, with (more importantly) teams largely comprised of kids who play solely for the love of the game and without any delusions of athletic glory. In many ways, and for many people, they've got it over us.

Again here we go 😂 😂 😂 sorry your 💯 percent wrong. I understand football quite well prolly forgot more than you will know. I also have watched many teams all over the state and lived in southern Ohio ,West Virginia, and California and watched teams there too and no that football is not average compared to what I've seen in Ohio or any other state I've seen games. MAYBE... maybe they are close to average to some other teams in D6 or D7 but not the bigger Divsions. The worst team that Massillon plays is prolly Glenoak and they would hang 100 on PAC schools. You haven't seen much football if you think D6 PAC teams like Tuslaw, and Fairless are close to average level of play with teams all over the state. Sh#t my 8th grade junior high team which was two Private schools combined, one from Canton and one from Massillon scrimmaged Tuslaw JV and my Junior high team won something like 60-0 funny thing is I didn't even play for the good schools LA or Longfellow.

Dude, you just don't get it. For the overwhelming majority of kids who play interscholastic football it is an activity rather than a lifestyle. It's not about the quality of play; it's about the joy of playing. It appears you've lost sight of that.

How dont I get it??? What have I lost site of? You jumped on my sh#t because I gave my opinion of the level of play in the PAC. How is that losing site of the joy of playing? I wasn't arguing about the integrity of HS football with you.It was my opinion and I questioned how people could stay interested in that level of football. Of course you had to chime in and try to correct someone and start argument and turn this into a discussion of HS football ethics because you think it makes you look intelligent which it don't. You didn't hear me say it should be a lifestyle not a activity or that it has to do with the quality or play over the joy of playing. It was my insight on a PAC game I seen nothing more, not a debate over Highschool football ethics and if football should be more about the joy of playing over the quality or play. Your grasping at straws.
