2025 Massillon Tigers

Right and then Hack leaving to spend more time with the fam, Mazur and Trox leaving the year before. I imagine Coaching football at any level is tough no matter what the pay is, in terms of free time or being able to see your family etc.
I think it’s crazy for a Tiger to be the HC at Perry but I would think almost every hs asst’s goal is to be a HC and those opportunities aren’t just handed to you. I know that Leno will do great there as long as he is given 5 years or so to change the attitude etc.
I can totally agree it's hard on these coaches with time and seeing their family. It's a lot of sacrifice. A lot of time missed. I try my best to not be too critical of them because of this. And yes I have, especially our last game. At the same time we want to win so they're under the microscope. It's tough.

Seriously idk what he knows about OC'ing but I will put my trust in the HC & admin. My 2 favorite teams suddenly have ALOT of coaching positions to fill, which is admittedly a tad disconcerting.
That was my thought last year also, but Nate's OL hire/move didn't pan out at all for us. It appeared that it was the easy/lazy way to fill the role.

Nate HAS to have so many connections, he SHOULD be able to hire quality assistants. The ad he placed even said that teaching positions were available, so that shouldn't be an issue in getting quality/experienced coaches.

I'm going to go ahead and agree with all of this. I will say I do like the hire from within IF, it's the right move. But ultimately hire the best person for the job. Just my opinion but last year they celebrated that Championship way too long as well. At times it felt like we never turned the page from 2023. That's just the feel I got more times than not. I criticized some last year and tried to be positive and supportive too. Hoping for us to "turn it on" in the playoffs.

You are right ! Actually I don’t think we ever turned the page last year from the 🏆. It seemed like every tough game we had we were in a funk and never came out fired up and ready to play, that goes for the mck game as well. I don’t think really anyone can be surprised by it, I know we all thought they were going to turn it on for the playoffs but obviously they never did. I hope a lesson sure was learned and this year it’s a completely different mindset, but they don’t really have a choice.

The Run and Boot!!
If ran correctly that offense is unstoppable. With Lee Owens retired "I think". maybe he comes back to teach the offense to this staff. We have the perfect QB in Manny to run it, along with the RB's, receivers. The line needs to be able to move and play assignment football. Damn, I would love to see it Just think of the Sparkman/Dixon or McGuire/Ashcraft days.

My hope is the sooner we can make those decisions the better. At the same time I don't want to rush just for this season. I want them to be the right guys as much as possible. It will be a challenge but I think we can do it. Definitely makes for an interesting preseason/offseason
Rumor has it Coach Moore will be the OC next season now that's what I heard from of some of my boys that are in close with the program.

It's a mixture between 2023 offense and last year's offense

Absolutely love it. I know we got beat by Moeller but I remember burning them early with that delayed misdirection.

It was a great offense I was a big fan of it

what would be cool is owens not just teaching it but having a retirement job as the OC probably just a pipe dream but its feburary and fun to think about.. last years team would have benefited from that offense. with all the RB's. definetly fun to watch when clicking.. owens had a hand in moore coming here..

Any Chance that Coach Moore Might be bringing in an Assistant Head Coach to Install an Entire New Offensive Philosophy?

I think Coach Moore probably wants to get back to running the ball down your throat and breaking the defenses will. That’s how you win playoff games.
That is all fine and dandy, but what happens when you come across a team with equal or better line play? The last time we ran the ball down Hoban's throat was??? How about Lasalle?

Being able to run the ball is great, but when you come up against the teams that we will need to beat to win it all, you HAVE to be able to make the defense defend the entire field, not just between the tackles and the 50 yard go route.
Sometimes, a little creativity would go a long way!

Not to mention, when you have D1 receivers there is no excuse not to have an effective passing game. Fyi... that is how Avon beat Hoban not the other way around. Bottom line at the championship level you have to be great at both.
Winner winner chicken dinner with this post!!

Just look at the best teams at all levels.

Hoban has not had a quality passing game the last several years, and they have not won a state championship since they last had one.

Does Ohio State just line up and pound it down everyone's throat? Does Alabama? Does Oregon?

Do the KC Chiefs just line up and pound it down everyone's throats? Do the Bills? Do the Lions? Did the Patriots back in their heyday?

Offense, especially in this day and age, must be at least semi balanced.
