Hoban defensive line was not nearly as big, strong and good as it had been the last several years. There were other teams that ran the ball effectively on them Walsh game 1, team from Maryland, StEds. Lake.

Thanks. 168 yards passing or whatever it was wasn't bad either. I think they were highly motivated and just put a complete game together.

True I understand what your saying. We might of moved the ball well on Hoban too. We didn't last year but Hoban has nowhere near the defense this year. When we played them they had 9 out of 12 starters back, they were loaded

Avon moved the ball on Hoban last year too, with a back up QB.

Was thinking the same thing when the 2025 thread was made today on here, Manny runs better then Slaughter but isn’t very big at all.

I’m very excited about Malone, Jackson and Owens. I think this junior class to be has the potential to be as good or better than Keyes, Wilson-Lamp and Ballard.

Was thinking the same thing when the 2025 thread was made today on here, Manny runs better than Slaughter but isn’t very big at all.

Haines is about 6’3 170 right now and has 8 months to put on some weight.

He has a lot to work on to be a potential Massillon varsity starting QB. Nothing against the kid, but I'd rather see him pUT some weight on and play the edge on D.

Yes, but only scored 14, this year 35. Also last year no team scored over 14 points against Hoban. This year they gave up 4 games of teams scoring 35, 28 21 and 20 points. They also last year rushed the passer and stopped the run a lot better. Gave up very few big gains. This year gave up a lot of big plays. Bottom line Avon was the better team this year and I am pulling for them to win the state championship.

Excited to see how J. Karder and A. Hoover develop over the winter/spring. Both are good size kids who could play a major roll on the dline next season. Also, R. Hill at the OLB position.

Back up quarterback or not Avon wouldn't have scored more than 14 last year off of Hoban's defense. Hoban's defense last year was great. Remember Massillon in the state championship game only scored 7 points and that only came after the Hoban punter dropped the snap from center and got the punt blocked then a few plays later on a 4th and 9 Hoban lineman sacked the quarterback but grabbed his face mask giving Massillon a new set of downs on Hoban's 12 yard line. They scored a few plays later. Yes Massillon would have moved the ball on Hoban's defense this year. Would they have beaten them? It is hard to say because of everything I have been reading about Massillon this year they committed a ton of penalties and often played sloppy, undisciplined football. Well, Hoban played the same way.

Yeah I think it would of been a toss up game this year with a slight edge to Hoban because they don't average 105 yards in penalties a game
