2025 Elder Football

I'm sorry, but all you can do is laugh at this point.

I do agree Elder could do more to get some additional athletes, but the older he gets, the worse it gets. He just has no concept of reality. He has the uncanny ability to present a good argument, but then completely bury it by going unhinged and on tilt. It's impressive actually.

I do hope the fella gets another state title one day. Although he's a freak, you can't deny his passion. I'm rooting for ya Omie.

I'd love to drink beers with him for 2 hours to try to at least talk some reality into him, knowing it wouldn't work.

It’s such a waste to have your Kicker as your fastest player. You don’t have anyone else at WR with that kind of speed. It doesn’t make any sense.

The kid quit the team when he was a WR.

I always see people on here saying, “Elder can only play the hand they’re dealt”, well this is a card they have to play. Not using him at WR is malpractice. Period. Otherwise, your Offense is going to struggle again.

Oh Omie Omie Omie,

On this Independence Day, you should be reminded that we are all free. These two kids voluntarily gave up their WR positions. So the coaches are just supposed to beg them back? That's not how it works.

Once again, after all of these years, you still have NO CLUE how this program operates. They don't beg kids to come to Elder, and they don't beg kids to play. Period.

You're also talking about 2 kids that never even caught a varsity pass, so it's a little strange in that regard as well.

The offense isn't going to struggle. The OL is going to be very good and will open up the run game. They have a QB who could honestly be the 2nd or 3rd best QB in the city. I've heard he's taken a significant step up. He will have plenty of kids to spread the ball around to on offense at the WR position. They will be very balanced, which is hard to defend.

I think this team will be very similar to the very balanced 2022/23 team when Schoster was the QB, and I absolutely think they can win the region. Moe and X will be tough, but Elder isn't that far behind where beating them in a playoff game is out of the question.

You act like they are miles and miles away from competing. That's never the case. You are delusional. I could honestly see them at 8-2, or potentially 9-1 with some good fortune (that will be tough).

Mt Zion - close W, but wouldn't be surprised with an easy W - out of town teams always struggle to defend Ramsey's offense
Cov Cath - easy W
Boro - easy W
LaSalle - easy W
Lou St X - close W
St X - close L
Moe - close L
Highlands - easy W
Chatard - easy W
DeLaSalle - close W

My point is, if he wanted to still play WR, he would be. He just wants to kick. Move on to the next kid.

Would not be surprised if Massa comes back JR or SR year.

I would be.

For many multi-sport kids, and there are alot of them these days, football is the sport they've played the least. Many of them have been playing baseball and basketball almost year-round since they were in early grade school. The days of "you have to play football" are dwindling. It's the sport that can end your career, and honestly, it's not most of these kids' best sport.

I understand the demands of playing multiple sports wear on kids bc it is such a big time commitment. But now, it’s almost seeming strategical in the way it’s happening, like they’re taking a Red Shirt season.

I agree with VikingCW that Elder should probably be 4-0 heading into the Louisville X game. I think they can beat CovCath, LaSalle, Springboro, and Mt. Zion.

I think a lot of this has to do with kids needing to specialize in baseball or basketball in the summers if that is what they choose to focus on in college. Those couple of summers are important in those sports if they want to get on the college radar. Then they come back to football for their senior year. It happens across the city, not just to Elder kids.

That makes a lot of sense. I can’t fault any athlete doing what they think is best for their future.

no 7 v 7 either. not sure what happened? maybe the new coach and ramsey don't play nice with each other?

A bit of the season can't start soon enough trivia: Can anyone tell me the last time Elder had a 9 or 10 game regular season with all games scheduled for Friday nights?

That has to be a long time ago, even before the Crosstown Showdown came into existence.
