What are everyone's thoughts on the league? Still West Branch at the top until someone proves otherwise? WB will have to replace a lot of veteran players from last years team... They do return a few nice pieces in D1 recruit Gregory , QB/Athlete Thomas, QB Hirst... What will Alliance, Carrollton, Marlington, Salem and Minerva be bringing to the table?

I will repeat this: West Branch returns a first-team All-Ohio QB that passed and ran for a combined 2,800 yards and scored 44 touchdowns, a 6-7, 230-pound D1 tight end who just visited the University of Michigan, among other schools, several talented two-way linemen and a JV team moving up that went 10-0, pitched seven shutouts and outscored its opponents, 404-41. Plus, they have league foes Alliance, Carrollton and Marlington at home where the Warriors haven't lost a league game in the past five years. West Branch will be strong again.

This is the year the aviators fly back to the top of the conference . Young last year and got lots of experience. They’re the sleeper team this year. Mark my words

I'm interested to see how Carrollton progresses with another off-season for their coaching staff. I don't know what they have as far as players but I thought they were well-coached.

Will the Minerva Lions bring up the rear or can we expect them to fall in-between somewhere this year?
Minerva will again go winless in EBC play... they are no where near ready to win a league game yet. 10 years and counting on their futility. They havent won a HOME league game since 2014... Think about that!

I don't know, I think they could catch one of the bottom teams this year. They're not as inept as they have been in the past, but they'll still be a double digit underdog at the minimum

Let’s hope, hopefully some rumors aren’t true and a couple key athletes don’t quit.

Haven’t heard anything myself. Seems like we’ve made a tradition out of losing players the last few years, not sure why? Any details ?
Heard B. Davis is quitting focusing on baseball. Heard Jackson is on the fence and wants to focus on basketball.
On paper we have enough to compete and should win 6+ games just have beat out some of our tougher non league opponents. I don’t see anyone beating us or WB in the league.

It's not an EBC game, but one contest on West Branch's schedule which should be a really good matchup is New Philadelphia at West Branch in Week 2. It will be the first home game on West Branch's new field turf. That game will feature two of the more electrifying players in the area in West Branch's returning first-team All-Ohio QB Jeremiah Thomas, who could be moved around anywhere on the field, and New Philadelphia's Caleb Carlisle, the school's new record holder in the 100 and 200 meters. Both of these speedsters can take it to the house every time they touch the football.

Man, Alliance, West Branch and Salem have very challenging non-league schedules. Alliance's first three games are at Parma Padua, hosting an improving Louisville team and at Streetsboro, which is very good. West Branch's first four are at Canfield, home to a very good New Philly team, at Struthers, which is always tough, and at Youngstown Chaney. Salem's first four are home to Poland, home to South Range, at a quickly improving East Liverpool under coach Paul Cusick, and at Canton Central Catholic.

When did West Branch get fieldturf installed?
