I still find it hard to believe that Saint Clairsville is a D5 team they were in D4 for a long time . They were even once a D3 teams years ago guess the enrollment really took a toll.

Some of these regions alignments proves my point. Do away with regions and go with top 32 (yes, not a fan of the 16 team per region format) in points. Coshocton in the Nw region? Put coshocton in SE, Columbus academy in SW, Marion Pleasant in NW. and this is just example of these schools. There are few others, but tired of typing. Lol

Yeah these regions are a little off? No way coshocton is in same region as Delta that’s one helluva a drive

Whoops, I fell for that.

Even so, Coshocton and Delta being in the same region is a scenario that will happen no matter how you slice things up.

Here is the map of D5 schools by region. It's musical chairs. Moving Coshocton away from Region 18 will cause someone else to be the one with the multi-hour drive to Delta. The OHSAA tends to prioritize building their regions by counties, probably to give some chance of local familiarity regardless of how far flung the possibilities get.

And Coshocton being in the typical Southeast region means they have a 3.5 hour drive to South Point. We can't help that some schools exist near the state line border while others are on the border of certain regions.

Shelby has bounced around regions. When it's the Northwest, we have a 2.5 hour drive to Bryan. Southeast, it's a 3 hour drive to Gallipolis. In those years, swapping Shelby out means someone else is faced with a similar plight.

Oh I get it they have to move around I went to Elmwood we were always traveling to Lima or south it just long bus rides suck !!

Region 18: Liberty Center is the betting favorite as they have won the last three years and should be strong again this season.

As others have said Liberty Center will be the heavy favorite in Region 18 but if there was ever a year for Liberty Benton to be the main challenger I would think it’s this year. Eastwood and Otsego should be good but I don’t think anyone from the NBC (Eastwood, Otsego, Oak Harbor or Genoa) will have the top tier talent they’ve have the last few years to challenge for the region.

Liberty Center
Fireman, Unless I missed something, Liberty Center has zero chance of winning Region 17. If you're talking about the state title, good luck to you. I have no misconception that South Range will have the 'juice' to get there this year, as they'll be sort of 'under construction'.

It was for Region 18 since that one had question mark
