My guess & hope is that MLB.TV picks them up like they have other teams. Not sure what that means financially for the Reds...
Phil and Bob just found their golden ticket to not spend money this offseason. I can hear it now “with the uncertainty of our TV deal, we need to make smart, financially prudent deals. If we’re in contention mid season and have a better idea of the new TV deal, maybe we can get some help for a late September push.” Or some baloney like that.My guess & hope is that MLB.TV picks them up like they have other teams. Sadly, yes...Phil and Bob just found their golden ticket to not spend money this offseason. I can hear it now “with the uncertainty of our TV deal, we need to make smart, financially prudent deals. If we’re in contention mid season and have a better idea of the new TV deal, maybe we can get some help for a late September push.” Or some baloney like that.
I think you'll see the Reds on TV one way or the other. There is too much to be made by it. I just think baseball overall has dropped the ball on this. The playoffs are a great example. Baseball is a sport that's thirsting for getting fans back, yet they put the playoff games on 5 different channels and most people simply don't have all the channels anymore. Baseball has to make the product easy to consume, not difficult.Uh Oh .Now Reds wont be on TV man . What s the traitor Terrie Frnchoke0ka gonna do? Nothing ! nada! . He wont last 40-50 games then he ll hve to take leave o absesene for his health. He could have retired a Red Sox /Inidanlegend now ruining his leagcay. eastside purple knows wazzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzup
Yep. It is a good service. Way better than Bally.
Believe this means you will need MLBTV.
Possibly — I believe MLB negotiates with cable/streaming TV providers in the team’s market to try to cut a deal to have the games on those providers’ services. That will be TBD. But yes, there should be a Reds’ local subscription available to stream on MLB.tv next year regardless of which providers end up picking up the Reds.
Believe this means you will need MLBTV.
I like Singer but not sure you trade India for him. Tough call.
Tell me how to feel about this, AEW. I don’t follow MLB outside the Reds.Reds deal 2021 ROY India to Royals for RHP Brady Singer
CINCINNATI – The Reds made a trade on Friday that added more depth to their rotation but also meant parting with a popular veteran. Cincinnati acquired right-handed starting pitcher Brady Singer from the Royals for second baseman Jonathan India and outfielder Joey Wiemer. Singer, 28, is eligible...www.mlb.com
India and Wiemer traded to KC for Brady Singer.
It’s a good deal, signaling they’re serious about winning.Tell me how to feel about this, AEW. I don’t follow MLB outside the Reds.
You're right but still liked India. Wish him wellI LOVE the India trade. You move a guy who likely was a backup/ utility player for a STARTING pitcher. To boot, you bring back Espinal.
Look everyone likes India, I get it. I liked Kyle Farmer. But you can't put teams together because you like guys. India, all things being equal, was a solid offensive player, a below average defensive player and could only play 2nd base. You're right but still liked India. Wish him well
You have said this a lot. I have refuted it a couple of times. Just stop. You are just parroting something that stupid radio hosts say. Here are your 2024 defensive stats for 2B. Sure he does not have big range, but if the gets to the ball, he makes the play.Look everyone likes India, I get it. I liked Kyle Farmer. But you can't put teams together because you like guys. Giving up India and adding Singer adds maybe $3M in salary this year, depending on how arbitration goes for both guys. If they sign a big RF bat I will say they are serious about winning. It’s a good deal, signaling they’re serious about winning.
That is what I like about him. Get outs instead of tallying a ton of pitches and walks trying to strike guys out. He's a ground-ball pitcher too that eats innings, which bodes well for the bullpen. My fear is that he is not a big arm that strikes out a lot of guys, he is a guy who knows how to pitch and pitches to contact. That works great in KC, which is a big pitcher's park. Will it work as well in GABP? I hope so.
