What is the news on fundraising for the new stands and press box? I am starting to think it may be another year of temporary stands if something doesn't happen very soon.

Nothing from what I’m hearing, likely during the summer with school and spring sports wrapping up I would imagine something happening in the next couple of weeks.
 
College recruiting news:

Senior Running Back Bo Jackson, (4-star recruit) took an official visit down 71 this weekend visiting Ohio State. The Buckeyes may be the favorite to land Jackson but are competing against Georgia (VASJ alum and former stand out KR/PR, CJ Germany c/o 2012, is a coach on Kirby Smart’s staff) and Alabama are still in the mix in Jackson’s Top 3.

WR/TE Brian Kortovich, (3 star recruit) has been offered at Big 10 schools, Indiana, Purdue, Illinois and Northwestern on top of several offers from mid major schools.

OL/DT Robert Smith, (3 star recruit) has received offers from Cincinnati, Boston College, as well as a handful of mid major schools.

Congrats Bo, Brian, and Robert on their hard work and hard earned offers from great college institutions and looking forward to seeing them on the gridiron this fall representing the Village for one last go around.
 
Vikings on the field for mini camp earlier this week. Looks like another year with solid numbers.

Okay I’m going to try and turn the narrative here. I just heard a story from a parent of one of Rotsky’s former players at Euclid. I’m not going to name him but apparently he was attending a division 3 school and was not a star player at Euclid. He said he met with Rotsky and a friend after his freshman year and told him he could not stay at the school due to finances. Rotsky told the kid he would help him stay in school and set him up with a job through his foundation and their services. He checked in on the kid every week and the kid just graduated. He said he’s the first kid in his family to even go to a four year college and Rotsky attended his graduation and helped him land his first job.

You all know I have my issues with Rotsky and his antics but this is a nice story and I thought I should balance the narrative a bit.

I will say this and I had my concerns with him as well, as much of a bad rep Rotsky has with his recruiting antics/sideline actions, he truly does help and care about the kids he coaches or assists through his foundation. He overall is a good person trying to help out as much as he can.
 
I hope all these high profile recruits turns into a huge season for the Vikings. I keep hearing how loaded they are - needs to translate into deeper playoff runs or a state title.
 
The Vikes will scrimmage Wheeling Park, WV (played them a few years back during the '22 season), for scrimmage #2. Date and location still TBD.

Wanted to bring this up - any word on the fundraising for the stands? I was hoping it would take place for the 2024 season.
