2024 SWBL Offseason/Season

Soft parents and a soft culture. Most see the Clemmons era as a success, however, if you knew some of the details you would understand how they squandered so many good opportunities. Unwilling to play the best players both ways, making a kid a starter for the first time in his life just because he is a senior, and then having to game plan around him unable to do his job, (over and over again) poor play calling or choking under the gun. All these things contributed to an almost great season every year. After they ran out of hard core parents it was over. That 2016-2018 run was the best it was going to get. Takes a lot of talent to overcome bad coaching. Makes for a long road back for the mostly new staff.

I hear that the next couple of classes are pretty good. Hopefully they can make a run again. Still some cleaning up to do and the junior high program needs improved if the program is going to rise. Football season is better with Edgewood in it, but I'm biased.
Edgewood has a STUD Last name is ballinger. He was a MS state champ in wrestling. He was the RB/LB for 8th grade this year.

I used to play ball with his dad. that 8th grade class is pretty good. BUT I think a few of them boarder maybe Ross and Fairfield? so who knows where they show up for HS

or they could end up at Badin.... if they are as good as advertised, Badin coaches probably know about them. :stirthepot:

How did this year go you you.

Super super early buts how everyone feel about their squads going into next year
Just soley off this year and who’s graduating along with who’s returning

Valley View loses some pieces along their O/D line but return vast majority of O/D skill players. VV is the front runner for the small side title once again

Bellbrook lost a good senior class but as I’ve mentioned prior the somphkore class contributed heavily to this years success
I have Bellbrook for 6th straight year winning the big side and possibly running the table . Alter game is there and Tipp but both lost a host of players

Valley view rivalry game never know .
Could be 7-3 or 10-0

Tipp didn't lose much. The WR that had a 1000yd season graduates, but the rest of the production(QB was a Soph, RB was Jr) on offense returns. Plus their defensive leaders were all underclassmen. They are setup to have a good next couple seasons if everyone stays healthy and eligible.

My apologies I stand corrected .
Still would have tried to fill that spot with someone else until Franklin program makes the turn .
Although that is D3 points for valley view
D3 points mean nothing if they don't win. Milton was worth more points to VV than Franklin every year since 2019. Plus VV was probably 8-2 in the last 10 games against Milton? MU was a big points cow for VV. I'd understand if MU dropped VV, surprised it happened the other way.

Franklin is close. It would help if Administration will make the move and bring Coach Childers back
Keep seeing this about Childers. Seems like there are a lot of people who are either for or against, no in between. Why was he let go from this position and would the admin look silly re hiring a guy they got rid of ? Also keep seeing it needs to be a Franklin guy . Miucy had the program going in a better direction but chose to leave and he was not a Franklin guy

Yea but them beating Franklin means more , “if” Franklin could get to At minimum a 5-5 program those are solid points

Franklin has a solid senior class. One of the best rb/lb in the conference connor monk. that never saw the field this past year. Hasn't played since starting his freshman year. Two acl injuries. Their down fall was not having a qb. Lost their starter before the season started due to Tommy John surgery. They will get him back this year Also. Two inside lbs that are studs. They were also handcuffed by a terrible OC. With the right coach in place they could surprise alot of people next year. But as they say good teams overcome injuries and they haven't been able to do that!

franklin would be a great wing t team

franklin would be a great wing t team
I don't disagree with this at all. However, it would take years for them to become proficient in that scheme. It's such a precise and nuanced offense, it's just not something that can be installed in one year and expect good results. I personally don't like the Wing T; however, I respect the hell out of the staffs that know how to coach and execute that offense.

What makes him one of the best? He had 5 Att for 2 yards as a soph looks like one game in his career where everyone was running wild 3 years ago to really even suggest he can carry the load. Quite the stretch. Hope the kids healthy but we will have to see if he can play 5’8 177.

Tore it twice as a sophomore, week 1 in football, and early last spring in baseball. Up in the air if he will be on the diamond this spring.
