Didn't see another thread out there, so I figured I'd kick off the conversation for the MVL for the upcoming season.

Who does everyone see as the favorites, top returning players, surprises for the season starting in the fall?

I would have to imagine Tipp and Troy will continue to be in the discussion as favorites. Butler had a nice season last year, can they continue that momentum? One would guess that Piqua won't stay down for long either.

Quick links:

1. Tipp 10-0
2. Troy 9-1
3. Xenia 8-2
4. Piqua 7-3
5. Sidney 5-5
6. Butler 4-6
7. Stebbins 3-7
8. Fairborn 3-7
9. WC 1-9
10. Greenville 0-10

Greenville can't get any lower. The only thing that would qualify, is if the football stadium got hit by a tornado. Oh yeah, about that...

But MAYBE with a new coach, they can start dig out of that hole.

Butlers going to be better this year than last year.
If true Butler may knock off Northmont for the first time in a long while. Bolts return a ton on offense but lost QB Cortner who made the offense go and they lost their best defensive player in the portal to Springfield. It was a close game last year for 3 quarters with those guys. May be tough goings early on without them.

It will be tough for Troy to replace all those DBs, Strobel and the RB. Butler and Tipp will probably be ahead of the rest, Sidney are the sleepers, that coach is good. I’ve heard Piqua is gonna be as bad or worse than last year.

I think Xenia is the real sleeper, the MVL has been around 5 years Xenia has won twice and last year had a injured/young team

Their coach abuses kids with special needs, I won’t be rooting for them. He is a poser. Xenia had some good talent the last couple years, but most of that talent is gone. If Xenia got a win everytime their HC posted a picture of himself they’d go undefeated.

Xenia doesn't need your approval. They have a 4th year QB and plenty of talent on their roster. Go root for your team out in the middle of BFE.
No HC at any other school in the MVL is abusing special needs kids 🥴. Don’t see how that “burn” is relevant, closer to Dayton than Xenia, but yeah BFE

I expect Butler and Tipp to be solid.
Butler loses a lot but returns a ton of talented players. I’ve heard great things about their coach.
Tipp will battle like they do every year. They will find their identity middle of the season and be tough to beat. With a young QB I expect them to start slow and end the season strong.
Troy will always compete despite losing a lot of starters. Piqua will likely be down again. Don’t be surprised if Greenville has a surprise season and wins 3-4 games.

These grandpa glasses have seen a lot football over many years. This team at Butler is really good. Another troll on Yappi?
Take those grandpa glasses off! 😂 Butler returns a lot of skill on offense, but lose 7 of their top 11 tacklers, and who is going to be throwing the ball to those skill guys? Mabson is great.

Greenville Improves under the new leadership, Coach will get the ship right. WC no good its another coach that is never around. Fairborn might be down to a few wins and Stebbins may surprise some people.

Offers have nothing to do with you clowns...his parents take him to every camp that exists....he played 6 games for you guys...be realistic did those 6 games gain him those offers...come on....enjoy your 5 and 5 season!!

The GCCC cut ties with him...so Xenia had to give him a B.S. gym teacher job....lol...I hope they don't win a game...

Why didn't they let him stay at Greeneview? Must be something missing at Greeneview. For you to dog on Xenia kids hoping they go 0-10 just because you don't like the coach shows what kind of person you are.

I'm not sure why his daddy didn't leave him at Greeneview....I know it was not Sean's decision and he is telling all his buddies that...and that is a fact...

I really don't care what kind of person you think I am....at no point in my life have I EVER abused anyone with a handicap or mental disability like the coach you are defending so you should not speak of my character...but keep on rolling with a guy who does.✌️

You got an ax to grind because Sean is kicking for us now. He wouldn't have all these D-1 offers if he was still kicking in a cornfield.

Well, this might be one of the funniest posts I have read in a while. Playing for the "thriving metropolis" of Xenia vs. playing in a "cornfield" like Jamestown has nothing to do with being recruited. I can assure you with 100% certainty that if you are good enough college coaches will find you no matter what sport or what school an athlete is at. There are college coaches (recruiters) who are paid 100's of thousands of dollars each year to go out and find these players. It is much easier today for players to get recognized with social media and hudl, that your location has nothing to do with being recruited. If the size of the school has something to do with being recruited then I guess you are telling me that none of the football players in the MAC get recruited..... C'mon man.........

Good morning, now that we have passed the July 4th Holiday. I will start thinking more about football. I still have a ton of other stuff going on so it will be off and on but we are getting there! Hope all the teams offseason workouts went well and numbers are increasing. I can honestly say I have not heard much about how Piqua is going to be in 2024 but what little I have heard it's not very promising.
