Rich, rich history of coaches from here or getting their start here yet this is the best the state has to offer. Are the 2 best coaches in the state currently located in Athens (8-4, 7-1 in conference) and Oxford (9-3, 7-1)?

To be fair, the Bengals franchise was not interrupted for three years when a cheapskate owner moved them, then were screwed by the NFL when they returned to the league with a crappier expansion draft set up than the mid ‘90’s expansion teams enjoyed.

The Bengals really lost this season in the 2022, 2023 and 2024 drafts. They took a total of 14 defensive players in those drafts. None of them have become a star. Heck, for the ones who are still here and not hurt, they can’t play consistently from one week to the next.

Even more startling is how many of those guys were taken in the first, second and third rounds. The Bengals used two of their top four picks in the 2024 draft on defensive players. Their top three picks in the 2023 draft were defensive players. Their top three picks in the 2022 draft were defensive players.
