2024 Cincinnati Bengals

True I suppose, and after 21/22 he was considered a H.C. candidate. Against KC the defense was good held Mahomes to 150 yds. but MNF the D was atrocious. Personally think the Bengals (including LA) completely underestimated Daniels which a coach should never do. A team is going to lose players to FA and to injuries but the drafting on the defensive side of the football has been really bad. Don't know how much input Lou A. has on what players that are drafted but being the DC I would think some if not a lot.
Probably none given the insular and home-spun nature of the Bengals organization.

These are 2 bad football teams. Thought Gesicki would have a big year this year playing with Burrow but doesn't look like it, draft a TE. Run defense will be bad all season and now the pass defense is being picked apart by the red rifle.

This defense is actually trash and it’s not just shaking of the preseason rust, right?

The Bengals are going to have to score a lot of points to win games this year due to their severe defensive vulnerabilities.

The only game they played horrible as a defense was Washington. The other three games were competitive defensively

Their only decent game defensively was KC. Otherwise they’ve been getting lit up badly.
No they haven’t, don’t be a goof, they gave up 16 to the Pats and 24 today, that’s not getting lit up. With this offense they should be fine scoring more than 24 points. How they lost the opener is beyond me. They’re not great obviously but not as bad as some of you think

The way the Ravens are looking in the 1st half vs Buffalo, the Bengals D better be great next Sunday if they want a chance.

Hopefully Hendrickson is ok. If he misses time, the Bengals can not get to the passer with 4. They will have to send a 5th which can often lead to big plays for the offense.

Week 4 isn’t quite finished yet, but pending the last couple games this week they are 23rd in scoring defense (ppg) and 27th in rushing defense (ypg), and that factors in having played a couple of less than stellar opponents offensively in Carolina and New England.

I think it’s a valid question to ask given that the schedule over the next month (BAL, @NYG, @CLE, PHI) IMO looks a lot more difficult than the first month. The Ravens are currently 1st in total offense and rushing offense, while the Eagles are 6th in total offense and 5th in rushing offense. Both of those will be extremely tough games based on the defense’s present level of performance, and on the road at Cleveland will be tough regardless of their record or seeming offensive incompetence.

Bengals and Ravens will fight for the division title. Browns and steelers will fight to stay out of the cellar

Every game and matchup is different every Sunday

You have to hope that Hill, Rankins, Murphy, etc. are able to play soon. It sounds like Hendrickson has a stinger, so he may not be out long. I just don't see how the Bengals can slow down the Ravens, so the offense will somehow have to figure out how to score 30.

Bengals will have to get off to a fast start this week vs ravens (have the lead at halftime) if not Balt. might rush for 250 plus yds.

That’s a good point, the Tavens are a different team when playing from behind. If the Ravens run out to a 10-14 pt lead, one is going to get a dose of Henry. I don’t think the Bengals can handle 20+ carries of Henry (few can).

Boy, ain't it......the NFL is like 17 individual seasons, and you're never too sure what kind of mood the fellas are gonna' be in from week to week. My biggest concern for our Bengals is that we can be bullied at the line of scrimmage, and we play in a division full of bullies. Our roster was constructed to matchup with KC and Buffalo in the playoffs, but you gotta' get there first.

Do the Bengals lead the league in missed arm tackles?...
I read Bengals had 16 missed tackles vs Carolina (not sure if that is true) fortunately though Carolina has Nick Scott on defense. Another big game early in the season because of an opening game loss to NE. Win and the Bengals are back in playoff contention lose and you can smell the toast burning.

Thank you, Harbaugh, for calling a TO with 47 seconds left in the 1st half on 3rd and 10, followed by an incomplete pass that stopped the clock.
