How sad to see our program get to this point. The two finalists for the job is a coach from a bottom feeder GMC school and a guy that has no head coaching experience! Just think about that........We are going to be the joke of high school football. This is not going to turn out well. Hyzdu should just go and offer McLaughlin the world and get him and you have your head coach for the next 25 years.

Pat is not coming back. That ship has sailed. Darryn was my first thought when Mark decided to step down. The kids love him, he's an excellent role model and leader and the coaching transition would be very smooth. His health is my biggest concern.
Roden has had a lot of success as a head coach including a state championship and runner up. He turned around an absolute dumpster fire at Oak Hills very quickly and has them on the upswing. He was voted GMC coach of the year.
Both are very strong candidates.

Because Jerral and his ego screwed it up once. Then had a chance to get it right, but screwed it up AGAIN. He is why Moeller can’t keep a head coach or athletic director. What are they up to, 4 for each since 2017? Been told teachers and support are the same way there now.

You obviously don't like Marshall and that's fine everyone has their own opinion. But coming on a public forum and spewing vague accusations with no substance or factual information other than "been told" is weak. You clearly want him to fail and are more concerned with whatever axe you have to grind than you are with what is actually true. Try being a little more objective. Marshall isn't perfect and I certainly haven't agreed with all of his decisions but the bottom line is he has done more to improve Moeller than almost anyone.

Not saying the coaches mentioned are not good coaches. I think with where the program currently sets, people are expecting anonther home run hire. I imagine when everything settles, we will hear there were 80-100 applicants from all over the country. This is not the program Elder took over. That was the lowest point in the history of the program. The program is flying high. I think people are just expecting more…..whether that is fair or not.

I agree about the teachers. I don't think what Gibby is saying is incorrect. We have lost a lot of teachers over the last few years. Why is that? I personally know a teacher who left and the exact words from that teacher was "the environment is toxic". There are people on here that love Hyzdu, some do not and some like me think he's done some great things but that he controls too much. I think hires of staff members should be the responsibility of the Principal not the President. Teachers and Administrators (AD's) work for the Principal directly so that hire should be at the made by the Principal. Hyzdu has done some great things I agree with everyone on that point, but you can't say that he didn't f-up the McLaughlin hire twice? Again, if he would have hired McLaughlin in 2017 or 2018, we wouldn't be in this position today with two candidates that we have today. These guys I'm sure are good guys and like I said I don't know them, but we do deserve better with a high-profile coach. I also agree with TTitans that McLaughlin isn't coming back as long as Hyzdu and Kremer are at Moeller. GBM!

Time will tell. One would think given the state of the program Moeller could make a great hire, but then again I still think not having a true home field is an issue for more candidates than Moeller is willing to admit.

Not having a home field has not been an issue for St. Ed's or Ignatius, or even Moeller for that matter. Bad take.
My 5th grader gets asked by his StX friends and Sycamore friends why Moeller has a crappy field and no stadium. It’s a bigger deal than you think.

Eds has a great stadium with a lot of seating and a great press box at Lakewood Stadium. And Ignatius has Byers Field which is a HUGE stadium with ample seating and parking. Not having a home field is a big issues for the younger generations.

My comments we're regarding on field performance over the 60 years or so history of the program. With that said, Moeller desperately needs a stadium. There appear to be potential opportunities either in Blue Ash, or the 35 acre sports complex in Miamiville. Hope we all hear they are moving in a positive direction to make it happen very soon.

If I had to guess, they’ll find their guy by the end of February.
Welp this aged poorly. I know this should be a thorough process to find someone who’s in it for the long haul (5+ years), but it seems by now they would know their final candidate considering rumors of them knowing their top two a week ago. This isn’t the NFL where you need to wait days on end for multiple candidates to fly in!!!!!
