I agree, it’s nice they got some solid opponents this year with Badin, Wheeling Park, Hartley, Lake, Ursuline, and Wooster, but the above looks like a step above this years schedule with what appears to be replacing the cupcakes with Kenston, St.V, and Gilmour.I like it - an upgrade over this year
They are a combination of pass and run, don’t expect them to bomb it down field every play. They will play with tempo and use their depth to wear the opposing defense down. I haven’t been able to catch many games this year but bases off videos I’ve seen, a lot of growth since their week 1 loss to Badin. What type of team is Villa Angela-St Joseph run or pass orientated ?
Heck, even just 1 loss in this stretch, may keep them out.Real season starts now. 3-1 probably gets you a home seed. 2-2 gets you in. 1-3 leaves it up to fate. Need everyone back healthy and ready to go this weekend. Hope to see the pass game continue to develop and the run game thrive as it has all year. Lots of the depth has picked up experience over the last few weeks but need the starters to come out sharp.
They are a quality program and will likely make a run in the playoffs. Have been solid for a while now.Don't be fooled by Hartley record. they have a very solid squad.
Schedule has been brutal -- Played 3 very good D2 team and maybe a D4 state contender in Harvest prep. Besides Big Walnut, most losses have been very close. This is a good team- don't sleep on it.Anyone know how Hartley is only 2-4? Really surprised at that record.
We’ve seen Hartley up close twice during their state title runs when we last faced in 2010 and 2011.Mind you two completely different teams now, and knowing Hartley is one of the more consistent programs in the state that everyone that faces them respects. I definitely knew coming into the season and this week that this was still a solid squad we are going up agains and will be a tough game to win, regardless of record.Schedule has been brutal -- Played 3 very good D2 team and maybe a D4 state contender in Harvest prep. This might be part of the reason why the difference in records.Anyone know how Hartley is only 2-4? Really surprised at that record.
You can through all of those out the door as this is a new year and different teams.Ursuline vs. VASJ
1965- St. Joseph 21, Ursuline 14
1968- St. Joseph 8, Ursuline 0
1969- St. Joseph 14, Ursuline 12
1973- Ursuline 33, St. Joseph 23
1974- St. Joseph 18, Ursuline 16
2020- Ursuline 47, VASJ 21
2021- VASJ 46, Ursuline 28
VASJ leads, 5-2
And here I thought the St. Joe's squad included 5 or 6 players from the '65 team who've been playing for the school for the last 57 years. A group of hard, tough 75 year-olds.You can through all of those out the door as this is a new year and different teams.
Same to you guys! The Vikings have their work cut out with all that youth on both sides and can take this as a learning experience.Irish have East next week. Then the school has an opportunity to beat arch-rival Mooney four-times-in-a-row which has never happened in the series which began in 1958.
Good luck VSAJ in what has been a successful season thus far.
I’ll bet ole Jeff Rotsky was pitch’n a fit all night. Yelling and screaming with that stupid hat on backwards. Likely swearing at every kid within 30 yards of him as well as his coaching staff. Just guessing he’ll be expanding his recruiting base now..Same to you guys! The Vikings have their work cut out with all that youth on both sides and can take this as a learning experience.
No "likely" about it... the Diocese of Cleveland would view such actions as child abuse. There are strict guidelines.I don’t know fbrox , that sort of behavior would not be consistent with the faith based mission of the school. The expectations laid out in that mission likely extend to the football program.
Yes the church and diocese has just been outstanding at dealing with child abuse issues haven’t they???No "likely" about it... the Diocese of Cleveland would view such actions as child abuse. There are strict guidelines.
They knew exactly what they were getting when they hired him. Talk to any chain gang that has worked a Rotsky game.No "likely" about it... the Diocese of Cleveland would view such actions as child abuse. There are strict guidelines.
