The combined record of StX's opponents opponent this week is 28-3

Week 4

The combined record of StX's opponents opponent this week is 28-3

Not sure the relevance of this but OK.

I think more importantly I would note that the record of opponents X has played thus far plus Moeller thus far is 14-5 and that the record of the opponents X will play after Moeller is 13 - 5.

Not sure how much any of it matters. As you can see from the schedule, 6 of the 10 schools on the schedule play at least one other team on our schedule -so it is pretty incestuous (although the same would be true, even more so, if we were in a bigger league).

The relevance is that with the 10 teams on X's schedule going up against teams that have a cumulative 28-3 record means there may be few wins for our opponents which results in fewer Level 2 Harbin points this week.

But I get it, the Harbin relevancy is diminished since 16 teams from each region get in.
Still the Harbin totals do determine seeding and 1st round home games

At this point, I just look at seeding. Right now, Moeller, Elder, Lakota West and Princeton are the top 4. If that were to somehow stay the same, and if we could somehow move up to the 5 (highly unlikely), that would be ideal in my mind.

Conversely, if we can't move up to the 5, ideally we would move down to the 12 or 13 (also highly unlikely and bad - since it would probably mean losing our last 2).

Without doing the math, I am guessing winning our last 2 would put us somewhere around 6-7, winning only against LCA puts us around 8-9, and losing both may actually be the 11-12.

If we have to play one of Elder, Moeller or Lakota West in the second round, I guess I am cheering for Moeller. Nothing would be more satisfying than knocking them out in their "best" year in more than a decade.

Does X really want to play the evil empire again?
Half their games this season ended in a fist fight and no hand shake.

When did all the evil begin?

Was a portal opened when they started putting the skull and cross bones on their helmets?

Or when Fuzzy started hiding Hawaiians in his basement?

Or did Fuzzy cut a deal with the dark side following his 1st season in 1962?

They finished 4-6, Fuzzy's only losing season at Moeller.

The next season, 1963, they "miraculously" finished 9-1 and for the next 17 years never lost more than 2 games in a season (except for 1966 when they lost 3)

This is a bit of an "over the top" statement but here is something that is very true. ALL of Moeller's games did end in a W :) GBM

Battle of unbeatens as Loyola Academy ranked #3 in Illinois faces Mt. Carmel the top team in the state this Saturday

Well, here we are. Interesting looking at Joe Eitel - the top 8 in our region are all locked-in (we are currently 9 with Fairfield at 8). It is hard to believe that no one from the top 8 can drop out and no one 9-16 can move into the top 8, so we are looking at a road 1st round playoff game. The good news is we are locked in, but apparently, could drop as low as 16 with a loss. Do you think Moeller would let us host at Ballaban Field?

In any event, wouldn't mind staying 8 with Fairfield at 9 (nice stadium - I remember beating Sycamore there, barely!) and a rematch with Moeller a week later should we win. It will be interesting to watch this weekend ...

Get ready to come to Shea Stadium in Norwood, Ohio for Round 2 of the Ohio State Playoffs! Will Reload still be talking about your freshman team? GBM!

It is going to be a tough game this weekend. This team from VA has a lot of dudes. I think of all the teams in the top 8 StX matches up best with Mason.

And a Moe victory is not guaranteed this week to complete this forecasted 2nd round game. The Moe offense is now sputtering at the wrong time. 💀

Moeller will take care of business this Friday. St. X has to worry about Fairfield before any talk of a rematch with Moeller. GBM

Agreed and same to you. Would be really disappointing if we had to play Hamilton in round 2. Although, we do have a lot of history with them as we had a long time rivalry game so it would be fun to reinitiate that.

So last year, I started a thread 2021 Schedule: Weakest in 30 years.
After Week 10 the 10 opponents cumulative record was 50-46 (0.520)
This season, after Week 10 the cumulative record is 64-32 (0.666)
Every team with the exception of LaSalle had an improved record.
