2015 State Brackets

I said it and I don't take it back. They hadn't lost a set since the Elite Tournament and the only team to beat/play with them was Elder. If X played to their ability even with the errors they beat Darby 9 times out of 10. They didn't play close to their best and got beat. Darby played out of their minds in Games 4 and 5, and you can't let a young team hang around and gain confidence. Ask 2013 St Ignatius who was the favorite on the opposite side of Moeller/Darby that season. They let a young Elder team hang around and got beat as well.

Darby and Moeller now have inside track to the title IMO. Beavercreek looks good thus far up 11-7 on Eds.

Beavers take out the Eagles in 1st set 25-18. Eds got a little momentum at the end of it, but Beavers in control all the way.

Eds pulls within 1 twice after being down 14-10 and 17-13, but Beavercreek able to pull away each time as they take 2nd set 25-18 again.

Set 3 was even through the first 8-10 points but Beavercreek pulls away 25-15.

Semifinal Match #1
Archbishop Moeller vs. Beavercreek - 10:00am

Centerville comes from behind to steal the 1st set from Ignatius 25-23. Wildcats led 19-13, before falling behind 21-23. They were able to get even before the Elk took the final two points.

Centerville takes set 4, wins the match 3-1.

Semifinal Match #2
Hilliard Darby vs. Centerville - 12:00pm

-Centerville is the only #1 seed from the 4 Regions to advance out of today's Quarterfinals.

Alter wins 25-19 in Set 3 and won the match in straight sets. That's kinda surprising, I thought Walsh would have won pretty easily.

DeSales over Bacon in 5. Bacon led 6-1 in 5th set. Big scare for DeSales but great performance by Bacon and great coaching by Adam Goller for getting his guys ready and competing better than anyone had expected

Two years in a row that St. X goes into the tourney as the number 1 team in the state and can't close it out. Makes you question their preparation and adjustments during the tourney.

Moeller won the first two sets of the first semi-final this morning vs Beavercreek. They have a 24-23 lead in the 3rd.

Beavercreek wins game 3 after what appeared like a poor call of a backrow attack on Moeller gave Beaverkcreek their 5th set point. The setter was backrow and went up with one hand to bring the ball back. The ball went mostly over the net but was contacted by Moeller's middle before Beavercreek touched it on the block.

Beavercreek up 18-11 in set 4, timeout Moeller. The crusaders can't stop Otto on the outside and Mikesh is playing out of his mind at libero.
