With water polo completed and USA clubs a month into their competition season it's time to start thinking about HS Swimming in the GMC!

On the boys side it looks like the defending conference champions bring back a senior-laden squad that will be very tough to beat. Mason looks to be runners-up again this year with the loss of several swimmers scoring in the conference championships due to graduation, untimely relocation and attrition.

The Lady Comets are locked and loaded for the defense of their conference championship with a strong returning team and a strong group of freshman. The Lady Aves will no doubt be their primary challengers.

Are there any updates on other squads (moving up or down) or swimmers we should be keeping our eyes on?

This is always a fun conference to watch as it has a lot of talented swimmers every year. Mason and Sycamore just have too much depth on both the boys and girls sides of this meet that it would be really tough for any team to take them down.

As for individuals to watch its tough to say right now as we don't know who has been training hard over the summer, but I would think that the boys 200 Free race will be a fun one to watch with Charlie Fry, Bryan McNamara and Ross Westrick (assuming they all swim that event).

Most club teams compete in meets these next few weeks. That should give us some kind of indication of where they are at at this point in the season. Long way to go till Conference championships in January.
