A DSJ Alumnus recently donated some basketball photos that turned out to be from the 1949 District Finals. DSJ 25-3 knocked off New Knoxville 21-2 48-43. It was at the Celina Fieldhouse with a reported attendance of 2,700. Looking at the photos there are people standing on the sidelines and baselines around the entire court. The Blue Jays finished the season 29-3 Class B state champions after knocking off highly favored Lockland Wayne 47-43 in the finals. First state title for DSJ.
