100% capacity this season

As someone who is anti-mask, and would go to a packed HS football stadium in a second if given the chance. I highly doubt 100% will be the number I could see 75%. And for Volleyball and Basketball, we will still be wearing masks to go to games for at least next season. Just my thoughts, and I hope I'm wrong.

There is already no capacity limit for state track and baseball tournaments, so there's your answer.

For the record it has nothing to do with people being vaccinated.

It shouldn't have to do with how many are vaccinated. Once everyone has the chance to be vaccinated , open it all up. If you are vaccinated you should be safe. If you aren't , you absorb the risk.

Worry about yourself. Nobody gives a damn if you got vaccinated and if people choose not to , you have zero right to butt into their medical choices

I'm vaccinated but I'm tired of the morons getting all pissy if some choose not to do so. If the vaccine works, you are fine. So mind your own business

As a state, I'm sure there won't be a limit. I could see some individual schools and district imposing their own restrictions and limitations like businesses will too once all restrictions are limited. Unfortunately, all this will do is cause more confusion and anger more people (ironically the people angered will be the same people who want freedoms for businesses to do what they want, and they will be pissed that businesses choose to do something that they don't agree with.) We will only see more outbursts and Karen behavior when things officially open up as every place will have their own set of rules and guidelines. It's sad to see how we as a nation continue to regress as a nation.

The current ODH order requires six feet between seated spectators with groups of no more than 10 people seated together.
Well, we all know that apparently youth baseball and other travel league tournaments completely ignored all health orders last year, including the summer and did so with absolutely zero consequence. Sports like baseball or volleyball aren't vilified the way football is, that is why football had DeWine's minions out and about making sure attendance protocols were adhered to.

That is a good sentiment, but the fact is that, as of now, the state won't fully "open" until there is " herd immunity," whatever that is. That's just the fact. People can debate whether or not that is a good idea, but that's where we are right now. I would think that, by the end of the summer, things will have gotten better and most events will go on pretty much as they were....unless the numbers go up again.

What the state does to keep their control is out of your control and not your job. Do what's best for you and butt out on other people's decisions. If high school games require a mask , I'll wear one in and then take it off because I'll have a bottled water with me. Covid can't get you when you are eating or drinking and I'll be fully vaccinated while outside

The target herd immunity threshold was estimated to be about 60-70% of the population, but many factors including the rate of which we are vaccinated are critical. Health experts are reporting we may not be able to achieve it.

There is a difference between people who cannot get vaccinated for medical reasons and someone who won't get vaccinated for political reasons. If health experts cannot guarantee we can congregate safely, high school sports should be limited to family. There is no reason a cooperative parent should have to risk their health or their child's to cater to the imaginary rights of society's sociopaths who want to attend a high school game. In reality, a non-family member who is that adamant about attending a high school game instead of watching virtually despite the advice of health experts shouldn't be around kids anyway.

If you are vaccinated and the vaccine works , it shouldn't matter if you are around non vaccinated people. You can't force people to get a vaccine that isn't even cleared except for emergency use. I got the vaccine , but there is a risk to it. Nobody knows if there are long term effects

It's not all politics here. And for the record, I'm republican and got the vaccine.

If you don't want to take the risk after getting vaccinated to be out in public , you are free to hide in your home. But you can't force your viewpoint on others.

My body my choice according to your side.

Our current government will not allow us to reach herd immunity. They would lose control of the masses. Can't have that. Goes against the socialist order.

That's not how socialism works

Why are you so bent on presenting an argument against something I never said? Show me where I said that my job was to control anything. The fact remains, whether either of us likes it or not, that the state will not fully reopen until there is a sufficient number of people vaccinated or unless the politicians decide to overrule the governor. That's a fact. I have no control over that and you don't either, so get a grip on what is actually happening.

I have a fine grip on the power grab that is happening now. And the people who are so easily manipulated by the government and media in current times

I don't really care if people get vaccinated at this point. My family and I are vaccinated and are safe. My friends who don't get vaccinated absorb the risk.

I'll do what I want now. Again if idiots require a fully vaccinated person to mask up outside , I'll get around it with my bottled water. I'm not going to be like Biden fumbling for his mask while around vaccinated people when outside

Wonderful, unbiased read for those who are confused between their individual freedom and their duties to community and country.

Those that are putting themselves above the health of the rest of the country should consider enlisting.

Putting a substance in your body that is supported and funded by known practitioners of eugenics and depopulation is really brave or really stupid. You decide.

Anyone who chooses not to vaccinate is giving this virus an opportunity to mutate into something the vaccines may not protect against.

"If the vaccine works, you are fine." That is likely true, but I also care about more than just me. If I were to become positive, I feel confident that I won't even notice, but I have no idea how transmissible I might be. That's why I have very little problem wearing a mask for the short term even though I too am vaccinated.

I'm not saying the following about you specifically, but there does seem to be a population that wants people to mind their own business about the choice to vaccinate while also criticizing other people's choices to wear masks when they probably don't need to.

By football season everybody will have had the shot to vaccinate. Heck most have that shot in Ohio by now. I'm in the last group and have received both shots already

So yes it would be stupid to require vaccinated people to wear masks outside when everyone has had a shot to choose to vaccinate or not for months

Look at your language. "MAY not protect us IF it mutates and some get through "

We've gone from 2 weeks to bend the curve to over a year later having people say "vaccinate and then behave the same way because of hypotheticals"

I didn't write that as a justification that high school football games should not be 100% open in the fall. It's a rebuttal to the notion that if you are vaccinated, you are safe.

I'll go on the record and say that I have no problem if OHSAA or individual school districts come down and say vaccination is required in order to attend high school sports in the fall. I would have a problem if that directive came from DeWine.

Well you can hide in your basement if you choose. But being fully vaccinated, I'm not going to live my life in fear of hypotheticals

You are aware my friend that what is being sold isn't exactly a vaccine? And being "fully vaccinated" means absolutely nothing other than you can say that you are. I'm actually on your side though. I've never been vaccinated in my life. I'm 48 years old. I agree with you that people can choose to do what they want. I'm not going to live like you said in fear of hypotheticals.. Rest assured that being "vaccinated" isn't risk adverse. You can look up VAERS and see what I mean. Not sure even what the so called risk is for those that don't get vaccinated such as myself. Every couple of years I will get the flu. Also get the occasional cold. Nothing else yet. I've attended over 110 sporting events indoors and outdoors since March of 2020. I have vacationed with my family on 4 different occasions to different parts of the country and I have ate out at least on 250 occassions since this madness started. If people choose to live at home and be weird like you said go for it My life has never changed and I have no reason to change it. Looks like your not going to let it effect you either.

Not scared of it for me. I got the vaccine because I have older family with things like parkinson's. I'm aware every vaccine has a risk. But I've been careful for them , not me.

Many have died from this though. Not in the conspiracy theory crowd that the vaccine doesn't work or that a chip is being installed. Our cell phones do the trick for that already
