I keep hearing "recycled" when I hear others who have heard this album. They are talking about the same riffs from previous albums appearing on this one. So what? Rotting Christ is not known for technical type riffing but pretty much keep it simple and chant like. This album is very similar to others but I liked the other albums so why wouldn't I like this one. This is not a band that is going to bring something new to the table very often and I am fine with it. I liked every track with several heading to the playlist as well as the album.

Solid first 5 tracks but the last two while still good were a few steps below. This one wasn't really as progressive and had more of an Extreme feel to it.

These guys sound very similar to Psychonaut. Oh, surprise... it actually is the same singer. OK... well, we have Prog in Post Metal style with some heavy sludgy vocals. Liked everything I heard with 2 tracks heading to the playlist.

I was waiting for this one to release and I was not disappointed. This is a GREAT album and a contender for album of the year. More of the same from REZN with the spacey hypnotic sound. This album is in contention for my album of the year and I immediately ordered the CD.

When I saw that this one release I was thinking this one could compete for album of the year since how much I liked the previous album. Well, it wasn't bad but not near the liking of the previous. Liked all the tracks and two of them made it to the playlist.

Doom - No More Pain (1987) ... 72.680

-Progressive Thrash/Punk Metal

These guys are from Japan and with this album Thrash is definitely the defining core but the vocals with that accent are very punkish. We got some proggy moments to add. This was not crossover though but something slightly different. This album was raw but the musicianship was excellent. Liked most of it and will likely listen to their next album in the future.

This was another first time listen of this band. Liked 6 of the 7 tracks but nothing that I would go out of the way to listen to again. There were some heavier parts that do break up the Shoegaze that I did like better.

The muffled vocals are very far back in the mix. This one started out sludgy but then by the third track we got some heavy stoner riffs.
 
Deftones - Adrenalin revisited....

My friend Wade and drummer of our band back in the day brought this CD over to the house back in the mid 90's. He told me to check it out. One look at the CD cover and I wasn't really interested but what the heck I put it on and man, it was something that I had nothing heard before. I instantly loved it. Fast forward about 30 years and I still listen to that album. Easily heard this album in full over 100 times. Well, it is time to revisit and update the rating.....

The hypnotic mesmerizing vocals of Chino and that gritty riffing really sets this one apart. This one is raw and starts out strong with the track "Bored" but then by tack 3 we have hit excellence with "One Weak". The strength of this album for me is with the middle tracks "Lifter, Root, and 7 Words". Overall, 4 of the 11 tracks are excellent (score over 90) and 10 of the 11 tracks are great. Even at my age this one got me off the couch and fired up and will always be a staple in my album playlist.
