The vast majority of parents paying for their kids to play on these teams are because their child loves playing the sport. Even those good enough to get a scholarship, they likely really enjoy the sport, thus parents paying for something their kid enjoys.
Springfield should not have tried to score. That would have been the smart thing to do. Just like Moeller should not have ran a play so quickly at the end of the first half when they were inside the 5. Gave Springfield too much time and paid for the poor decision.

Stats are very subjective though. So I wouldn’t put a who lot of stock in what is out there. Some teams take it seriously, while others give hits even for obvious errors.
