    Best Ohio XC Team EVER?

The '88 Elder team is at least worth mentioning. They co-"national champions" that year. https://www.milesplit.com/articles/29719/xc-legacy-1988-national-championship-rankings

    2004 Troy Regional v. 2024 Troy Regional

That makes a ton of sense for kids that were already interested in distance running. At this point I assume it's similar to how X's swimming program is viewed. However, at least back when I ran, the vast majority of Elder and LaSalle runners were kids from the local Catholic grade schools that...

    2004 Troy Regional v. 2024 Troy Regional

There should be four races: Freshman, JV, Open, and Varsity. This shouldn't be hard to pull off. My freshman year all four schools had really good freshman teams and that freshman race felt like the biggest event of my life at that point. It was probably the worst race I ever ran, but I...

    2004 Troy Regional v. 2024 Troy Regional

SW OH still has great teams, best in the state, etc., etc., I'm just talking about fun things that are gone. Running toward that bridge at Troy with screaming fans is one of my favorite memories. Similar deal with the (fun) course at Rapid Run at the GCL meet being packed the whole way. I...

    2004 Troy Regional v. 2024 Troy Regional

You don't run under the bridge / fans at Troy anymore!? What's the point of having a race there. That was the best part. Between that, and the GCL meet no longer being at Rapid Run (and the non St. X schools now generally sucking), SW Ohio CC isn't what it used to be.

    XC Rivalaries

Normally that is it true, but these might be two examples of it not being the case. I could be wrong, and please correct me if I am, but Russo had a least a few very down years before leaving LaSalle. Spencer had even more at Elder before he retired. Elder seemingly still has good numbers for...

    XC Rivalaries

The GCL was incredible from ~1986 (Elder State Champs, LaSalle Runner Up) to 2010 (Elder and LaSalle ranked ~ #1 and #2 most of the year before not performing well at state with injuries to both teams. X beat both of them at state for the first time all year). X, LaSalle, and Elder all had...

GCL South boys league results. No LaSalle freshman/jv?

That makes sense about LaSalle. Thanks. What about Elder though? It still seems like they have a decent sized team.

GCL South boys league results. No LaSalle freshman/jv?

What happened to Elder and LaSalle? I'm sure the answer is complicated, but any clue on how these programs became a shadow of what they were? I went to Elder forever ago and came here to specifically see how the GCL meet went (the weather this time of year always makes me nostalgic for my cc...

    Fights at Kings Island

Of course they should be disciplined. Any form of physical violence as discipline against kids has been shown to have negative long term effects though. I'm sure every parent has wanted to wring their kids' neck a million times when they act up. God knows i have, but it's a lazy cop out...

    Fights at Kings Island

I think your heart is in the right place, but there is no lazier form of discipline a parent can give than hitting thier kid, including spanking. There might be no more counterproductive form to counter bad behaviour either. The people dumping on "those" kids are hilarious. When i was at...
