Versailles beat Mariemont 68-43 (Versailles is an 11 seed). This is technically an upset, but the dominance is what makes it especially surprising. For a brief moment they were doubling them nearing the end of the third.

I don't know much, but I can say I have a lot of faith in Ryan Jones as a coach. If you exclude his first year at Versailles, he has averaged 2 MAC regular season losses per year over the last 4 years. I don't think they get over the hump and beat Marion this year, but I don't think they lose...

The transitive property works, but only if you are impartial. Kirtland beat Dalton in a close first game of the season while Kirtland as a significantly improved team- moreso (according to fans) than your standard progression- beat Versailles in a less close game. However, 15 weeks changes...

Congrats to Kirtland! Wish that the ball could've bounced Versailles way a couple times, but Kirtland is a great program and earned the win. Look forward to seeing Versailles earn their way back here and get a chance at a new result!

I don't know for sure from the opponents side, but as a Versailles athlete I always viewed Coldwater as a rival rather than Marion. But my memory starts right around 2000, so I am affected alot by the game between Versailles and Coldwater where the helicopter dropped the game ball off.

Honestly, even the people running their mouths on here are probably good people. People get caught up in town pride and the great strides being made. Sometimes that leads to overhyped comments; and pride in achievement always leads to an eventual fall. Thats not really that bad.
