I'm not sure if all games are updated on the GGCL website but it appears the league is a combined 1-6 in the opening week of the season. It's difficult to make a lot of sense of that giving the overwhelming success of most sports programs in the GGCL.
Everybody ok at Seton? Ready to chill out on splitting with MND and moving into the upper tier talk? Relax and let the coaches coach and kids mature and develop. Unrealistic expectations can be a deterrent.
Kings 59, Seton 51
And, Kings graduated 3 of its top 4 scorers from a 4th place ECC team...
Maybe? But, next door at Elder the large majority of the coaches have been in place FOREVER. It's not necessarily a parochial school thing. SUA was a brand new AD that decided to clean house. The SUA VB coach had been involved in the program for 15 plus years.
Every story is different and that...
Let's not compare apples and oranges. When all of these coaches were replaced, none of those coaches had their respective programs close to the level of success of the soccer program now. The volleyball program has done a complete 360 in the last 5 years and the basketball and softball programs...
Just saw this on Cincinnati High School Rankings Facebook page.
Since Sept 28. Seton is 13-0 and 39-3 in sets.
Wins include an October 3rd sweep of D2 State Champ SUA, an October 5th 3-1 win over D3 State Champ Gilmour, and an October 5th sweep of D4 State Champ Roger Bacon.
Greater Cincinnati went 4-0 Thursday at the OHSAA Tournament.
Today, Fenwick and Ursuline play for State Championships, and Seton plays their Final Four match.
D5 State Championship - Fenwick vs Lake Catholic - 100 at Wright State
D3 State Championship - Ursuline vs Gilmour - 300 at Wright...
4 of the 5 Cincinnati schools play their state semi=final matches today. Seton starts Friday.

D3 - Ursuline vs Watterson - 7PM at Clayton Northmont
D4 - Roger Bacon vs Warren - 530 at Vandalia Butler
D5 - Fenwick vs Ottawa Glandorf - 400...
It's possible that Seton TO problems could have been somewhat attributed to not having their returning PG as well. Seton Volleyball is in the Final Four this weekend. She'll work her way back to the basketball court over the next few weeks.
Congrats to Taylor Volleyball on a great season.
I really hope they are looking for a couple opportunities to beef up their schedule next season. It took them 2 sets to settle into this match. You can practice with great intention and have the talent to compete, but there is nothing like game...
Advice for Seton fanatics. Sit tight, see what happens. Enjoy the growth and improved culture. It takes time and realistic standards.
Seton could have a year of growth and start moving the needle forward and it feel like a giant disappointment with all the talk. What's the real barometer? Is...
St Joe's lost to MND twice this season. Once in August and once in October. MND didn't win a set this season against the top 3 teams in the GGCL.
However, St Joe's does have one of the best players in the state. Belle Grooms might be the very best.
The McNick loss to MND was without Savannah Stacey. Six rotation OH.
McNick lost head to head to Roger Bacon in a very tight 5 set match. That rematch could be awesome with a trip to state on the line but both have work to do to get there.
On one side of the regionals, the CHCA/MM winner...
Congratulations to the OHSVCA Division Poll Winners.
Division 1: Seton
Division 2: Anthony Wayne
Division 3: Archbishop Hoban
Division 4: Archbishop McNicholas
Division 5: Lake Catholic
Division 6: Coldwater
Division 7: Fort Loramie
Do any of these teams win state in November?
As we enter the final week of the regular season. The Cincinnati area is well represented in the State Rankings, including 3 teams voted #1 in Ohio for their divisions. Seton in D1, SUA in D2, and McNick in D4...
