Your supposed holding or block in the back on that Example 1 play doesn't even begin to explain your entire line being pushed back 3 yards in the first couple seconds of the play, unless you think an O-line pushing a D-line straight backwards is holding, which maybe would explain why you think...
Your line got blown up, probably every play. Just because you found a play that shows a call that could have gone either way, even after watching the replay, doesn't prove as much as the manhandling I saw across the board. The entire O-line pushes forward 3 yards as soon as the ball is...
That video clip does speak for itself. Nearly every defender was pushed 3+ yards back, and it took a great tackle to "hold" the ball carrier to "only" 9 yards. Based on that video, I'd have to assume Kirtland gained 5 to 10 yards on most of their rushing plays.
I saw Kirtland play in person this year and their line seems to play a clean game. I'm not surprised they only got called for 1 hold.
Get a hold-happy officiating crew out there and maybe it's a few more minutes before Kirtland hits the running clock I guess.
There only ever seem to be about two Perry people posting on here. Maybe they don't have internet out there. Either way, my money's on this guy being from Perkins. They always have some nuts stirring up trouble every year.
Two weeks in a row of Pirates. I think Glenville beats the second Pirates a little bit more than the first, even though the OHSAA put this game in Perkins' backyard.
Glenville -14.5
I was looking forward to this likely D4 state championship game for a while and it lived up to the hype. Too bad the weather did not, lol.
Time for Glenville to go on and win it all. Great season, Perry.
There were a few plays where Perry did something and the announcers called them Glenville. They were also wrong on yard lines multiple times (saying 36 when the ball was on the 31, etc). I expected better announcers for $9.99.
I was hoping to see this game played in good weather, but that's not going to happen. Low 40s, rain, and 40 MPH wind gusts is the forecast. Probably Perry's only chance to score is through the air, so this could get ugly quick.
I don't know everything about how the enrollment works with GA or whatever the supposed loopholes are, but what I do know is that suburban districts with a higher median household income means people have other advantages, even down to it being easier for them to choose where they want to live...
