Don't listen to Wobycat. wheelersburg, over the years, has been getting kids from Green Township, South Webster, Portsmouth, Ironton, Ashland, Minford, East, and probably a couple of more.

I don't want to kick the guy when he's down. But, yeah, coaching was probably a factor. I think he does a great job promoting the program & kids - and a great job training the players. It's just that maybe he should consider hiring coordinators. The same was evident when wheelersburg upset them...

Not complaining... But, I bet that's true of a lot of folks - unable to attend because of the gametime/gameday. That's definitely true of me.

I'm not sure how the 2019 title game was a "bloodbath". It was a 17-7 game. And I'd bet that the upset loss to wheelersburg is more like motivation for the Tigers, as opposed to a momentum killer.

They may very well be on a mission, but don't you think that maybe a team who has been runner-up 2 of the last 3 years might be on a similar - or maybe more determined - mission ? Not challenging the desire of SR or anything...just a thought.

I'm not familiar with South Range at all. But, Ironton has shut down some stout offenses the last couple of weeks. Harvest Prep was averaging 41 points a game & Ironton shut them out. Valley View's offense only scored 14 on them & one of those drives was the result of two long passes kinda...

Don't be fooled by the score. Ironton scored the final 28 points of the game vs VV. If they'd have played the whole game like that, it would have (and, in my opinion, should have) been a running clock. Nothing but respect for VV and SR, but the "on a mission" and "on another level" statements...
