What was INS? The OHSAA website doesn’t mention it. Go to the OHSAA Football History section, then to the “Early Ohio High School State Football Championships.”
Go to the History Section of the Massillon website, then to the Season Reviews, then to 1943.
The 0-0 game that you mentioned, was in 1969. Mike Autrey was the excellent Tiger running back. Massillon scored the only touchdown in the game, but it was called back.
This Tiger team had 3-4 future pro football players. Denny Franklin, Steve Luke and Willie Spencer, Sr. Tommy Hannon was a sophomore. This team was one of Massillon’s best.
Your 2006 state championship game at PBTS had 11,065 in attendance. A very good crowd. As you know, your opponent was Louisville, a Stark County school. That certainly increased attendance.
