Are we still really debating the 16 playoff teams per region when a 12 seed is playing in the title game?

Didn’t they also make their first final 4 in 2011- so that’s 12-0 in the last 13 years? That’s crazy. Edit: just looked, and 2016 was the only year (lost in the regional final), so that’s 12 title games in 13 years, after never having been to the final 4 before that. What a run.

Last I heard it was still 0-0 in the 3:44 in the 2nd with Garaway missing a field goal.

Gotta think Kirtland is the favorite, but I’ll be pulling for Garaway. Agree with most of the other posts that this should end up being a 28-21 type game. Assuming Versailles advances, it doesn’t get any easier next week either.

How are Dalton and Lancaster pronounced here versus the “correct” pronunciation? I know the others, but didn’t know these two were considered weird. I pronounce them like Doll-tun and lan-cast-er. Is that correct?

Good point. It looks like Dover is already Mount Vernon’s replacement on Wooster and Madison’s schedules (Mount Vernon played Wooster in week 7, and Madison in week 8, which is when Dover plays them next year). Ashland and Mansfield would be two nice pick ups.

Interesting, someone had mentioned they were slated to play: Hoover Green Wooster CCC Northwest Alliance Marlington Canfield New Philly Dover So it looks like the only one that doesn’t match up is South Range in week 9 (which is where I thought Dover would be).

I’ve heard Louisville mention that Dover is on their schedule next year, so I wouldn’t be surprised to see them play in week 9, and leaving Steubenville at week 5 makes sense, as well.

A few years ago 2 seed Dover and 3 Kenston played in this same round, and the neutral site was Twinsburg- 12 miles from Kenston (~20 min drive) and 66 miles from Dover (~70 min drive). A true neutral site would have been northern Stark (Green, Hoover, Lake all would have been pretty equivalent)...

Kenston scored three TDs, and had five field goal attempts (made 4). They drive down the field on virtually every drive, but Dover’s goal line D played decent. A turnover or two would have been nice though.

I’ve heard that before about the Kenston’s freshmen, but how is 24 not enough for a team? Seems plenty to me.

I just remembered I have the program from last night. They list 75 guys, but 24 are freshmen, so that leaves 51 sophs-seniors.

The team was small (numbers-wise), so I hope that’s because the senior class was small. Then again maybe that’s just football nowadays with less parents allowing their kids to play. Gone seem to be the days of having 70-90 kids on the team, although Kenston seemed to have 60-70 kids. I counted...
