Yup. Elks were very consistent defensively all year and the grade was a solid "B" defense. Unfortunately, they were equally consistent offensively and the grade was a weak "C." They were a thereby a B-, C+ team overall. They ran into a team tonight who was a solid "B" and the outcome was...

Thats because they are...very average.

It's pretty simple. There is no dominate team this year. Everybody is beatable and everybody is capable of beating someone good. The beauty of region 2 this year is the same thing. Anybody can win it. The bad news is there is not a real state title contender in the region.

Except that the rest of the region is also down. Facing the Olentangy's doesn't exactly instill a sense of foreboding. In a normal year I would agree that this year's Elks are a 2nd round loser at best, but whose the 3rd rounder that's any better?

They won, as did Findlay. The region is really up-for-grabs, as anybody could get hot and win it. Yes, even Springfield...:)

Part of avoiding ejections is a coach that knows when to "eject" your sorry asss to the bench long before the officials issue their ejection.

Thanks for tending to this. And yes it has become a very aggravating problem. There are other sites I follow and it's getting worse there as well. Appreciate the concerns and hope this can be successfully addressed.

I was there and as I remember they were 16-man brackets in '76. There were 4 AAA districts and each district took 4 to state. I believe it was the same in '75.
