2022 Cincinnati Bengals

Hope that, when they wear the white and black uniforms, Burrow doesn't throw to a ref instead of a receiver. Of course, the receivers are 200 lbs smaller than the refs, but still....................

That’s actually kind of funny and something I didn’t think of.

Let the Super Bowl hangover begin. This team doesn’t have a ton of quality depth and they were remarkably lucky with injuries last year. I don’t see that luck repeating. Offensive line appears to have zero room for injuries.

It’s true, it’s true. Trust me …

Collins better stay healthy. Should sign Tretter (before Browns do) and move Karras to LG. Time to admit they screwed up by drafting Carman.

Carman will go down as another horrible draft pick from this franchise.

"Yea baby Im a Fairfield boy in da NFL. Straight out da Knob baby. Just bought my mom a used Hummer. Dont need to train during the offseason because Im straight paid and took my boys to Vegas for a weekend one time"

Other than losing their starting G, T CB and pass rushing specialist in the preseason, relatively lucky during the regular season.

Hopefully, when teams start trimming down their roster, they can find a good depth piece. I’d take a flyer on Jason Peters. He’s old but is still likely better than what we saw last night. I defended the Carmen pick and was willing to give him a chance but that ship may have sailed. He was on roller skates all night.

I thought the Bengals settled their OL issues? Honestly I haven’t been paying attention, is it depth or the new guys not working out.

This pretty much says it all when it comes to the Bengals o-line:
362 OFFENSIVE LINEMEN HAD A PASS BLOCKING SNAP IN THE FIRST ROUND OF PRESEASON GAMES.

JACKSON CARMAN’S PFF PASS BLOCKING GRADE (19.3) RANKS 348TH.

HAKEEM ADENIJI’S PFF PASS BLOCKING GRADE (14.1) RANKS 352ND.

On the bright side of the Bengal's preseason game was the performance of Kendrick Pryor. Maybe it is just an aberration but how bad is Whiskys pass offense that he did not have more catches in his college career (5 years).

The O line is going to again be an albatross as soon as injuries begin to creep in. Which they will.

It’s true, it’s true. Trust me …

So it definitely appears that Cordell Volson will be the starting left guard.

But it’s fair to question whether the O line backups and the backup QB(s) belong in the NFL at all. It’s starting to look like those spots are perilously thin and any injury to the wrong person could seriously curtail this team’s chances.

At least Dax Hill looks good. The Jessie Bates situation is another problem.

It’s true, it’s true. Trust me …

For the most part, the 2021 Bengals were remarkably able to avoid major injuries … not entirely, but mostly.

They’re going to be hard-pressed to repeat that injury luck again. And the depth of this team, especially on the offensive side of the ball, is what has me worried.

It’s true, it’s true. Trust me …

Somebody help me if I'm missing something here. I have long been on the let Jessie Bates walk train since the story first broke last year about a contract extension. Appears to me with limited viewing that Dax Hill is a more than capable replacement. I've never been a fan of paying safeties unless they were gamechangers, which I feel Bates is not. With the tag that is tendered, what are they Bengals options with him? I believe they can actively negotiate with other teams to trade Bates, and if they find someone willing, he can sign the tag and thus the deal would be done. The catch here is that his agent would have to have a deal in place to sign with the new team. Plenty of moving pieces here. But here is my real question. Can the Bengals rescind the tag they tendered and just let Bates walk? Of course they get nothing for him but the money could be well spent. It is obvious the Bengals still have OL issues with depth. When teams start cutting down rosters, there is bound to be a good OL or 2 that can serve as quality depth ahead of some of the guys on the Bengals. Take that money and find some quality depth on the OL.
