Congratulations to the defending SWO KOS Champion vamp2syd. He won last season's playoff championship final round over runner-up GoBucks15. Congrats also to zeeman, who was last season's Playoff Total Points Champion. And also congrats to Kyle E Woyote, as he was last season's Regular Season Total Points Champion.
After taking over this pick 'em contest from vamp2syd and running it for the past seven seasons, I'm really looking forward to running it again this season! Everyone is welcome to play.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
These games are mainly with teams located in southwest Ohio, or having at least one team from SWO in the game.
This could include leagues where most of the teams may be outside of SWO, as long as there is at least one SWO team in that league.
I also include the Columbus area. These boundaries can be flexible.
Here are changes that I've made to the SWO KOS contest:
The top 24 finishers at the completion of the regular season will qualify for the playoff rounds (instead of the top 16 as in previous season's)
For the playoff rounds, instead of matching opponents head to head, the rounds will look like this:
Round 1: The top 24 at the completion of the regular season will compete in this round.
Round 2: The top 16 finishers from Round 1 will compete in this round.
Round 3: The top 8 finishers from Round 2 will compete in this round.
Round 4: The top 4 finishers from Round 3 will compete in this round.
Rounds 5 & 6 (Championship Rounds): The top 2 finishers from Round 4 will compete in these final two rounds.
Whenever a tie-breaker is needed in the playoff rounds, the higher seed will win out. Seeding is determined by a participants standing in the top 24.
There is also a team KOS Championship. It will begin in Round One of the playoffs, with the top 24 regular season finalists eligible to represent their team.
As a top 24 finalist, even if you're eliminated in the playoff rounds, you can still continue on to represent your team as it advances through the playoffs.
The number of participants in the round will determine the scoring. For example, with 24 participants, the round's highest scorer gets 24 points, the second highest gets 23, etc.
The team championships will run during the first four rounds of the playoffs, and will happen like this:
Round 1: The top 8 teams in this round advance to round 2.
Round 2: 8 teams participate, the top 4 advance to round 3.
Round 3: 4 teams participate, the top 2 advance to round 4.
Round 4: The top 2 teams participate in this championship round.
If there is a tie between participants in a team tournament round, the higher seed will win out.
If a tie-breaker is needed between teams, the team with the highest seeded participant will win out.
Congrats to Wayne on being last season's SWO KOS Team Champion! The Warriors won over runner-up Reading 14-10.
There will be a total point championship for the regular season, but not for the playoffs.
Regular Season Scoring:
Points are earned by:
1.0 point for a correct pick
(-1.0) for an incorrect pick
1.0 point for hitting the tie-breaker
0.1 point for a game picked:
For example, 25 games in a contest X 0.1 = 2.5 points.
This benefits those who participate regularly.
Bonus points for winning a weekly contest:
Multiply the number of contestants X .05
For example if there are 60 contestants, multiply 60 X .05 = 3 points.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
GoBucks15 won the final contest of the regular season last year, so he will win all tie-breakers in this week one contest, and West Jefferson will be in the week one pick'em.
Below I have 25 games. The team in all capital letters designates the home team. Make sure to pick all games, and remember, this is not a straight up pickem'. You are picking according to the point spreads. Please put an "X" on the line of the team you pick to beat the spread. If you aren't sure how this is done, then watch and see how the others are doing their picks.
There are two tie-breaker games at the bottom. There's a primary tie-breaker game, and an alternate tie-breaker (in case the primary tie-breaker game is cancelled). Pick the team you think will win, and by how many points. Also as a secondary tie-breaker, you can put how many combined points you think the game will have, when adding both teams total points together.
You may edit your picks, but make sure that your edit doesn't go past the deadline time.
DEADLINE to get your picks in is FRIDAY, AUGUST 19 at 7:00 PM ... Best of luck to everyone!!
